Collection: Security Level 6 Shredding

DIN 66399 Security Level P-6 limits the maximum particle area to 10 mm² with a maximum particle width of 1 mm. P-6 machines are micro-cut, producing a fine, dense shred from which reconstruction requires exceptional effort and specialist equipment.

P-6 is intended for secret material where disclosure would have severe consequences: classified government and military documents, intelligence products, national security records, and the most sensitive commercial information such as unpublished patent work or critical infrastructure documentation.

Two clarifications matter here. First, P-6 is not the highest level in DIN 66399 — P-7, at 5 mm², sits above it. Second, a P-6 rating is a statement about particle size only. It does not by itself mean a machine is approved for US classified material. That requires the specific make and model to appear on the current NSA/CSS 02-01 Evaluated Products List, which also demands a maximum 1 mm x 5 mm particle.
