HSM SECURIO B32 1/32 x 7/16 Cross Cut Document Shredder - HSM1825

The HSM SECURIO B32 HSM1825 is a P-6 micro-cut shredder that cuts paper to 0.78 x 11 mm (about 1/32 x 7/16 in) at six sheets per pass, into an 82-liter bin. It is the B32 head that reaches high security while still accepting staples and paper clips. It suits legal, medical, HR and finance teams that need more than P-5 for stapled paperwork arriving in real daily volume.

A P-6 cut that tolerates staples

De-stapling is what makes most high-security shredding tedious. HSM rates this 0.78 x 11 mm head for staples and paper clips, so routine stapled sets go straight in; only binder clips, spiral bindings and heavier metal need removing. The P-7 B32 next to it accepts paper alone. Six sheets per pass is not quick, but it is half again the four-sheet rating of the P-7 head, which adds up across a working day.

Reading the P-6 rating correctly

P-6 requires a particle of 10 mm² or less and a width of 1 mm or less. At 8.58 mm² and 0.78 mm this cut clears both, so a listing that calls it P-5 is wrong. It is not P-7, though: if a policy names P-7 or a 1 x 5 mm residue, this machine will not comply. There are no card or optical-media ratings for this head, so discs and cards need another machine.

Upkeep and warranty for the B32 HSM1825

Micro-cut rollers need regular oiling to cut cleanly and spare the motor, and this article has no oiler fitted; HSM shredder oil is sold separately. HSM's lifetime cutting-roller warranty stops at P-5, so this P-6 head falls under the standard machine warranty. The bin has an inspection window in the cabinet door, which helps because micro-cut waste settles and looks emptier than it is. Bags and HSM's AF500/B32 cardboard box are not included.

Who the HSM1825 suits

A practice or department whose policy rules out P-4, whose paperwork comes stapled, and where someone will keep the head oiled. It is too slow for clearing filing cabinets of routine paper, and the wrong choice when the requirement is explicitly P-7.
