Pet Crushers

A PET crusher compresses empty plastic bottles and aluminium cans so they take up a fraction of their original volume. The point is handling cost: empties are almost entirely air, so a site that collects them spends money storing and transporting nothing.

Two machines here, and they solve different problems. The HSM Crusher 1049 SA is a heavy-duty standalone crusher for beverage and aluminium cans, reducing volume so that collection containers fill far more slowly. The HSM CP 4988 is a crusher-baler combination: it crushes and then compresses the output into a strapped bale, which cuts volume further and produces a unit that is straightforward to store, move and sell on.

Check three things before ordering. Electrical supply — machines at this size are commonly three-phase and need a dedicated circuit. Floor space and access, including whether a pallet truck or forklift can reach the installed position. And output handling: a baler needs strapping consumables, which are in Strapping Wire & Tape.
