HSM SECURIO B32 1/32 x 7/16 with External Automatic Oiler - HSM18254

The P-6 SECURIO B32 with HSM's external automatic oiler fitted from the factory. The cut is a 0.78 x 11 mm particle - 8.58 mm2, and under the 1 mm width limit, so genuinely P-6 rather than the P-5 it is often mislabelled as - and the machine takes six sheets of 80 g/m2 paper per pass. What the oiler buys you is one fewer maintenance task on a cutting head that will not tolerate being neglected.

• 0.78 x 11 mm particle, DIN 66399 P-6. Both P-6 conditions are met: 8.58 mm2 is under the 10 mm2 area limit and 0.78 mm is under the 1 mm width limit. Do not accept a P-5 label on this cut - P-5 allows up to 30 mm2 and is visibly coarser.
• Factory-fitted external automatic oiler. Lubricates the rollers automatically as the machine runs. Micro-cut heads degrade quickly without oil, and this removes the dependency on somebody remembering to do it.
• Rated for staples and paper clips. HSM lists fasteners as acceptable on the 0.78 x 11 mm cut, which the P-7 version of this cabinet is not. In a real filing-room clear-out that saves more time than the sheet capacity does.
• 547 mm overall width. The oiler adds 50 mm to the standard B32 cabinet; depth (398 mm) and height (793 mm) are unchanged.
• 82-litre pull-out container. HSM rates it at roughly 818 shredded sheets at this cut, with an inspection window in the door so you can check the level without opening it.
• Quiet, low-standby operation. Approximately 56 dB(A) at idle and 0.1 W standby draw under HSM's EcoSmart control.

What's in the Box

The HSM SECURIO B32 arrives assembled: the cutting head and cabinet are a single unit, with the 82 l (21.7 gal) waste container in place behind the cabinet door, plus the mains lead and the HSM operating manual. The external automatic oiler is mounted on the cabinet at the factory; nothing needs assembling on site.

Shredder bags and HSM's fitting cardboard waste box are consumables and are not included — order them with the machine if you do not intend to empty the container loose. We could not confirm from HSM’s published documentation whether a filled oil bottle ships with the unit, so add HSM shredder oil to your order and use HSM’s own oil rather than a generic lubricant.

Who Should Buy This — and Who Should Not

This is a good fit for a legal practice, clinic, HR department or finance team that destroys sensitive paperwork daily, needs a security level above P-4, and does not have anyone whose job it is to maintain office equipment. The combination of P-6, staple tolerance and automatic lubrication makes it the least demanding high-security shredder in the B32 range to actually live with.

Do not buy it if your policy explicitly says P-7 or 1 x 5 mm - it will not comply, and the 1 x 5 mm B32 is the model you need. Do not buy it for general volume shredding either; six sheets a pass is slow, and the P-4 cross-cut B32 handles 14 to 16. If you want this cut with a larger bin and a stronger motor, the SECURIO B34 at 0.78 x 11 mm takes eight sheets and holds 100 litres. And be aware that HSM's lifetime cutting-roller warranty covers P-2 to P-5 only, so the head on this machine is not covered by it - a fair point to weigh against a P-5 alternative.
