HSM SECURIO B32 1/32 x 7/16 with External Automatic Oiler - HSM18254

The HSM SECURIO B32 HSM18254 (article 1825113O) is a P-6 micro-cut shredder with HSM's external automatic oiler mounted on the cabinet at the factory. It cuts paper to 0.78 x 11 mm at six sheets of 80 g/m² per pass, accepts staples and paper clips, and fills an 82-liter bin. Of the high-security B32 models, it is the one that asks the least of the people using it.

Three things that make this P-6 easy to live with

First, fasteners: HSM rates the 0.78 x 11 mm head for staples and paper clips, so stapled files need no preparation beyond removing binder clips and spiral bindings. Second, lubrication: the oiler feeds shredder oil to the rollers during cutting, replacing the routine of oiling by hand every few bins. Third, the container: about 818 sheets of micro-cut waste fit in it, and the window in the door shows the level without opening anything.

The oiler runs from a replaceable bottle, so oil is an ongoing cost. HSM's documentation does not confirm whether a bottle is included; order HSM shredder oil with the machine.

Security level and its limits

The cut passes both P-6 tests, area and width, so it sits well above P-5 and one step below P-7. That makes it right for clinics, law firms, HR and finance teams that need more than P-4. It does not satisfy a P-7 or 1 x 5 mm requirement, it has no card or disc rating, and as a P-6 head it is outside HSM's lifetime cutting-roller warranty, which covers P-2 to P-5.

Comparing the HSM18254 with its siblings

The HSM1825 is the same machine without the oiler and 50 mm narrower, a fair choice if one person will oil it. The 1 x 5 mm B32 is the model for a P-7 requirement, at four sheets and paper only. For general confidential paper, the 4.5 x 30 mm B32 at P-4 takes 14-16 sheets. The SECURIO B34 offers this P-6 particle at eight sheets with a 100-liter bin.

Who should pick the HSM18254

Teams that shred sensitive, stapled paperwork daily, need P-6, and have nobody responsible for maintaining office equipment. It is not built for bulk clear-outs, where six sheets a pass becomes the bottleneck.
