HSM SECURIO B26 1/32 x 7/16 with External Automatic Oiler - HSM18054

The HSM SECURIO B26 HSM18054 is the P-6 version of the B26, cutting paper to 0.78 x 11 mm (1/32 x 7/16 in), with HSM's external automatic oiler fitted to the side of the cabinet. The oiler lubricates the cutting cylinders while the machine runs, so a fine micro-cut head keeps its performance without anyone keeping an oiling schedule. Why the oiler matters more on this head than on a P-4

A 0.78 mm particle means the cylinders do a lot of cutting for every sheet, and dust and friction build quickly once they run dry. The usual symptom is a gradual drop in how many sheets the machine will take before it reverses. On a P-6 head there is a second reason to automate the job: HSM's lifetime cylinder warranty only covers P-2 to P-5, so this head is outside it. Steady lubrication is the cheapest protection the cylinders get.

The oiler draws from a bottle of HSM cutting-block oil. It automates applying the oil, not buying it, so add oil to your consumables list next to bags. Use HSM oil, not vegetable oil, thin household oil or an aerosol.

HSM's per-article sheet prints the standard cabinet, but its B26 series data gives oiler-equipped machines a width of 547 mm against 497 mm, so allow roughly two extra inches on the oiler side. The HSM1805 is the identical P-6 machine without the oiler, and it makes sense where one named person owns the shredder and will oil it. The 1.9 x 15 mm B26 drops to P-5 but feeds 9-11 sheets and stays inside the lifetime cylinder warranty. The 1 x 5 mm B26 reaches P-7 at four sheets, paper only. For P-6 with more bin volume, the B32 offers the same particle in a 21.7-gallon cabinet.

Is the HSM18054 the right buy?

Yes, if P-6 is a requirement and the machine is shared by a department or sits where facilities staff rarely visit. No, if the volume is mostly routine paper that P-5 would cover, or if a policy names P-7 or NSA listing; this cut meets neither.
