The P-6 SECURIO B26 with external automatic oiler pairs the 0.78 x 11 mm cutting head with continuous automatic lubrication. On a fine micro-cut head that combination matters: 8.58 mm² particles come at the cost of a cutting unit doing a great deal of work per sheet, and lubrication is the maintenance item that decides how long it keeps doing it well.

The specification is otherwise the standard 0.78 x 11 mm B26 — six sheets per pass at 80 g/m², a 12.2-inch intake, a 55-litre pull-out bin and a 610 W continuous-duty motor. Staples and paper clips are still acceptable, which sets this apart from the P-7 head in the same cabinet.

Specifications

HSM’s lifetime cutting-cylinder warranty stops at P-5, so a P-6 head is not covered by it. The automatic oiler is the practical counterweight: the most common cause of premature cutting-unit wear is running dry, and this version removes that failure mode.

Bags and replacement oil are separate orders. Use HSM1815 bags (34 gal, roll of 100, MPN 3310000004) and HSM cutting-block oil.

Two practical points before you order. First, sheet capacity is quoted at 80 g/m²; on 70 g/m² stock the same machine is rated seven sheets, and US 20 lb bond falls between the two, so plan around six. Second, the oiler is a consumable system rather than a sealed unit: budget for replacement bottles of HSM cutting-block oil in the same way you budget for bags. Neither item ships with the machine. Because a P-6 cutting head is outside HSM’s lifetime cylinder warranty, keeping that bottle topped up is the cheapest protection you have.

Who Should Buy This — and Who Should Not

This is the configuration to specify when P-6 is a requirement and the machine will be shared. Because the cutting cylinders are outside HSM’s lifetime warranty at this level, the case for automatic lubrication is stronger here than on any P-4 or P-5 model.

If one named person owns the shredder and will oil it, the standard 0.78 x 11 mm B26 saves you the premium. If your policy tops out at P-5, the 1.9 x 15 mm B26 is faster at 9-11 sheets, holds about 700 sheets per bin and keeps the lifetime cylinder warranty. And if you need P-7, this model does not reach it — the 1 x 5 mm B26 does, at four sheets a pass and paper only.
