This is the highest-security shredder HSM builds on the compact AF chassis: a 0.78 x 11 mm particle cut rated DIN 66399 P-6, with a 150-sheet automatic feed tray. At 8.58 mm² the particles are under the 10 mm² P-6 ceiling and under the 1 mm width limit, which is a genuine step beyond the P-5 version of the same machine. The cost is throughput - 5 sheets a pass by hand - and one detail buyers often miss: HSM's lifetime cutting-roller warranty applies to P-2 through P-5 models only, so this one is covered by the standard machine warranty instead.

What's in the Box

The shredder ships assembled on its cabinet with the 9.2-gallon pull-out bin, power cord and operating instructions. Shredder bags are not included. HSM lists part 1661995050 (530 x 340 x 1000 mm, 100 bags per pack) for this chassis; the same bag also fits the SECURIO B22 and B24. Shredder oil is a separate consumable.

What P-6 Costs You in Practice

It is worth being specific about the trade, because the AF150 is sold in both P-5 and P-6 form on an identical chassis. Moving to P-6 takes manual capacity from six or seven sheets to five, drops bin capacity from roughly 432 sheets to 339, removes credit cards from the list of accepted materials, and takes the cutting rollers outside HSM's lifetime roller warranty. What you gain is a particle of 8.58 mm² instead of 28.5 mm² - roughly a third of the size.

If a policy, a client contract or a regulator names P-6, that trade is simply the cost of compliance and this is one of the few machines that makes it manageable by feeding itself. If nothing names it, the honest advice is that the P-5 version of this shredder will serve you better. Consumables are the same either way: HSM bag 1661995050 and periodic manual oiling.

Who Should Buy This - and Who Should Not

Buy it when a written policy, a client contract or a regulator names P-6 and nothing lower will do - research records, legal discovery material, intellectual property, security-cleared commercial work. It is one of the few P-6 machines that still feeds itself automatically, which matters because at 5 sheets a pass manual feeding is genuinely slow.

Do not buy it by default because P-6 sounds safer. You give up half the throughput of the P-5 version of this same machine, you lose the lifetime cutting-roller warranty, and you lose media handling: this configuration is rated for paper and F-3 film only - no credit cards, no CDs. If your requirement is personal data under an ordinary privacy policy, the SECURIO AF150 1/16" x 5/8" at P-5 is the better machine. And if you need P-6 with bigger batches, the SECURIO AF300 1/32" x 7/16" doubles the tray to 300 sheets and takes 6 sheets by hand.
