The 0.78 x 11 mm SECURIO B26 is a P-6 machine, and that distinction is worth stating clearly because this cut size is frequently listed as P-5 by resellers who only check the particle area. At 8.58 mm² it does come in under the 10 mm² P-6 ceiling, and its 0.78 mm strip width is inside the 1 mm P-6 limit — both conditions have to hold, and here they do.

For the buyer, that means a step up in security from the more common P-5 B26 without moving to the very slow P-7 head. Six sheets a pass is the price. Chassis, motor, throat and bin are the standard B26 items.

Specifications

A note on paper weight, because it changes the numbers you are comparing. HSM quotes six sheets for this cutting head at 80 g/m², the European office standard, and seven sheets at 70 g/m². Common US 20 lb bond sits between the two at roughly 75 g/m², so six to seven sheets is the realistic figure on typical American copier paper. Any listing quoting a materially higher number for a 0.78 x 11 mm cut is either using a much lighter stock or has copied the specification from a coarser model. Feed rate also falls if pages are folded, glossy or damp.

Who Should Buy This — and Who Should Not

This suits an organisation whose policy has moved past P-5 — defence suppliers, some financial and legal work, R&D groups protecting unpublished material — but whose volume still needs a shared office machine rather than a specialist unit. Being able to feed stapled documents at P-6 is a genuine practical advantage over the P-7 version.

Six sheets a pass is slow for general office paper. If most of what you destroy is routine correspondence, the P-5 B26 at 1.9 x 15 mm doubles the feed rate, holds more sheets per bin and keeps the lifetime cylinder warranty. If your requirement is specifically P-7, this model does not reach it — the 1 x 5 mm B26 does, at four sheets a pass and paper only.
