Collection: Strip Cut Shredders

A strip-cut shredder slices the page into long parallel ribbons using a single set of cutting shafts. It is the simplest and fastest cut type, takes far more sheets per pass than anything else, and fills its bin slowly — and it is the least secure option we sell.

Strip-cut covers P-1 (particles up to 2,000 mm², strips up to 12 mm wide) and P-2 (up to 800 mm², strips up to 6 mm wide) under DIN 66399. We would rather be direct about what that means: P-1 and P-2 are not confidentiality controls. A 6 mm strip runs the full length of the page and carries whole words and figures, so a determined person with time and patience can reassemble the document.

That makes strip-cut the right choice for volume waste reduction — internal notes, draft printouts, non-sensitive administrative paper — and the wrong choice for anything covered by a privacy obligation. If personal data, medical records, financial details or anything else you would mind seeing reconstructed passes through the machine, start at P-4 cross-cut and consider micro-cut.
