It cuts 5.8 mm strips at DIN 66399 P-2, which is the trade: the widest strips in the 310 Touch Screen line buy the highest throughput. • 47 sheets per pass. The highest sheet capacity in the 310 TS range, achieved by using the widest strip in the line rather than by a bigger motor.
• Touch-screen operation. Forward, reverse and standby are selected on the panel; there are no mechanical rocker switches to break.

Who Should Buy This — and Who Should Not

Choose the SS5 when volume is the whole problem: a records purge, a print room, a department that generates reams of superseded output. Forty-seven sheets a pass, no duty cycle and a touch-screen panel that non-technical staff can operate makes it the least frustrating shared machine in the range. Over a full records clear-out the gap between 47 sheets and 31 is measured in hours, and this is the model that wins that comparison.

Do not choose it for anything regulated. Strip cut at P-2 is reconstructible, and a 5.8 mm strip is the coarsest output Kobra makes on this chassis. If narrower strips are a requirement without a change of security class, the KOBRA 310 TS SS4 gives you 3.8 mm at up to 39 sheets. If the requirement is genuinely a higher DIN class, skip strip cut entirely: the KOBRA 310 TS CC4 AO is P-4 at up to 31 sheets and the KOBRA 310 TS CC2 AO is P-5 at up to 19. Both add an automatic oiler, which strip-cut models in this line do not have.
