intimus HDD Gladiator High-Performance HDD & SSD Shredder

The intimus HDD Gladiator is an industrial strip-cut shredder for hard disk drives, SSDs and other electronic media, rated H-3 under ISO/IEC 21964 (DIN 66399). It uses 30 mm blades for spinning drives and 12 mm blades for electronic media, and handles up to 150 3.5 in or 400 2.5 in hard drives per hour. Weighing 1,190 lb (540 kg), it is meant for data centers, ITAD companies and decommissioning teams that destroy drives as a routine part of operations.

Two cutting routes in one cabinet

Hard drives and flash media need different treatment. Platters and drive housings go through the 145 mm intake to the 30 mm blades, which deliver the H-3 result. SSDs, USB sticks, SD cards and similar items use the 135 mm intake and the narrower 12 mm blades, rated E-2. The approved list also covers data tape, floppy disks, optical discs, plastic cards, battery-free phones and tablets, and printed circuit boards, so controller cards and storage modules can be destroyed alongside the drives they came from.

Planning the installation and the workflow

A cabinet of 40.9 x 33.1 x 66.1 in (104 x 84 x 168 cm) carrying over half a tonne needs a structural check, especially on a raised data-center floor, as well as a confirmed delivery route. The datasheet quotes a 400 V / 50 Hz three-phase supply, the European configuration; the North American electrical requirement should be confirmed before installation is booked. Drive debris is heavy, so the bin fills by weight long before it looks full, and handsets must always have their batteries removed before feeding. Expect day-to-day output below the headline rates once serial logging and caddy removal are included.
