Collection: Dahle High-Performance Shredders

Dahle is a German manufacturer whose shredder range is built around two ideas that matter in an occupied office: oil-free operation and dust control.

Much of the range uses a cutting head designed to run without lubrication, which removes the maintenance step most offices skip. The CleanTEC line adds a fine dust filter — Dahle's own filter product is rated to trap up to 98% of fine dust particles — which is worth having where the machine sits among desks rather than in a copy room. Bins are generous for the class, commonly 38 to 45 gallons even on mid-range models, with throats of 12 or 16 inches.

Above the office range, the PowerTEC line covers high-security and digital media work: the 727 CS and 747 CS shred paper and optical media to a 1 x 5 mm P-7 particle, the 818 HD punches hard drives, and the 808 MS and 828 HD handle mixed digital media. The 40534 is one of the models on this site whose own specification cites NSA/CSS 02-01 — verify the exact model against the current Evaluated Products List before ordering for classified work.
