Description

The 20725 is the highest-volume bag in Dahle's range, because 20 to 30 gallons is where most office and departmental cabinets sit. It measures 18 x 20 x 36 inches in 1.5 mil plastic and comes 100 to a box. The gusseted sides matter more at this size than on the small bags: a 30-gallon cabinet lined with a flat liner loses a significant share of its rated volume to the unfilled corners.

Compatible Models

Matched by cabinet waste volume, this bag covers a large part of the Dahle line-up:

  • 20 gallon — PowerTEC® 717 OS
  • 23 gallon — Dahle 40330, 40334, 50310, 50314; CleanTEC® 41334, 51314, 51322
  • 27 gallon — PowerTEC® 818 HD
  • 30 gallon — Dahle 40430, 40434, 50410, 50414, 50464; CleanTEC® 41434, 51414, 51422, 51464, 51472

Dahle's own product pages for the 30-gallon CleanTEC® machines list 20-30 gallon shred bags as the matching supply, which is this part. Cabinets of 31 gallons and above take the 20726.

Specifications

Fits bin volume 20-30 gallons
Bag dimensions 18 x 20 x 36 in
Material and thickness 1.5 mil plastic, gusseted sides

One box covers roughly two years for a department machine emptied twice a week, or a few months on a shredder in constant use. If your site runs a mix of 23 and 30 gallon cabinets, this single part number serves all of them, which is the main argument for standardising on it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this bag fit my CleanTEC 51422?

Yes. The 51422 holds 30 gallons of shredded waste, and Dahle lists 20-30 gallon shred bags as the matching supply for that machine. The same applies to the 51414, 51464, 51472, 41434 and the non-CleanTEC 40430, 40434, 50410, 50414 and 50464, all of which have 30-gallon cabinets.

Does it also fit the 23-gallon machines?

Yes. The 23-gallon cabinets — Dahle 40330, 40334, 50310, 50314, CleanTEC 41334, 51314 and 51322 — sit inside the 20 to 30 gallon band this bag covers. The bag will stand slightly proud of the rim on the smaller cabinets, which is normal and is what allows it to be gathered and tied. There is no separate 23-gallon part number.

How full should the bag get before changing?

That depends on cut size more than on volume. Micro-cut output from a P-6 or P-7 machine is dense, so a full 30-gallon bag is heavy and awkward for one person; strip and cross-cut shred is far lighter for the same volume. On high-security machines many sites change at roughly three-quarters full to keep the lift manageable.

Can I use a 31-55 gallon bag in a 30-gallon cabinet instead?

It is not recommended. The 20726 is a much larger bag (24 x 48 x 20 inches) and the excess material folds back into the cabinet, where it can be drawn towards the cutting head. Use the size band Dahle specifies for the cabinet volume. If you are ordering for a mixed fleet, buy both part numbers rather than standardising on the larger one.

Are these bags recyclable?

The bag itself is plain plastic film, so it is recyclable wherever soft plastics are collected, but the shredded contents are usually what determines the disposal route. Most confidential-waste contractors want the paper loose or in their own sacks. Check with your waste provider before assuming the whole bag goes into the paper stream.
