Description

This is the largest and heaviest bag Dahle makes: 30 x 48 x 60 inches in 4 mil plastic, for industrial cabinets holding 71 to 120 gallons. The gauge is the headline — four mil is roughly two and a half times the film thickness of Dahle's office bags, which is what a 120-gallon load of shredded paper demands. Because of the size, the box holds 50 bags rather than the 100 of the smaller sizes.

Compatible Models

  • Dahle PowerTEC® 929 IS Conveyor Shredder — 120 gallon waste volume

The 929 IS is the only Dahle machine in this band. Note that if the 929 IS is fitted with the 929 CB output conveyor, shredded material is discharged into a bin, gaylord or baler rather than into the machine's own cabinet, and you may not need bags at all. The 68-gallon 909 HS takes the 2 mil 20736 instead.

Specifications

Part number 20737-16072
Fits bin volume 71-120 gallons
Bag dimensions 30 x 48 x 60 in
Material and thickness 4 mil plastic, gusseted sides
Pack quantity 50 bags per box
Warranty 90 days

Treat a full bag at this size as a mechanical handling job, not a manual one. A 120-gallon bag of shredded paper is well beyond a safe two-person lift when full, so most sites using the 929 IS either run the conveyor into a wheeled container or change the bag well before capacity. Availability on this part is intermittent from the manufacturer; order ahead rather than at the last bag.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which machine takes the 20737?

The Dahle PowerTEC 929 IS, which has a 120-gallon waste volume and is the only current Dahle shredder in the 71 to 120 gallon band. The bag suits any industrial cabinet of similar capacity. The next size down, the 2 mil 20736, covers 56 to 70 gallons and is the correct part for the PowerTEC 909 HS.

Why are there only 50 bags in the box?

Size and gauge. Each bag is 30 x 48 x 60 inches of 4 mil film, so 50 of them make a box comparable in bulk to 100 of the thinner office bags. It is the only Dahle bag supplied in a 50-count; every size from 20724 up to 20736 comes 100 to a box, and the smallest, the 20723, comes 200.

Do I still need bags if I have the 929 CB conveyor?

Often not. The 929 CB conveyor takes shredded output out of the machine and drops it from a 46-inch delivery height straight into a bin, gaylord or baler, which is the point of fitting it. Sites running the conveyor typically bag at the receiving container, if at all. Keep a small stock for periods when the conveyor is out of service.

Is 4 mil enough for a full 120-gallon load?

It is the heaviest film Dahle offers and is specified for this capacity, but a bag filled to a genuine 120 gallons of shred is not something to lift by hand regardless of gauge. Most operators change out well before that point or use a wheeled container. Film thickness protects against tearing on the cabinet rim; it does not make the load lighter.

What is the current availability?

Dahle has shown this item as out of stock at the manufacturer at times, and supply can be intermittent. If you run a 929 IS, keep a box in reserve rather than ordering when you reach the last few bags. Contact us for current lead time before committing to a delivery date.
