Description

The Dahle 20710 is the replacement air filter cartridge for the DAHLE CleanTEC® range, and it is the only filter Dahle catalogs for those machines. CleanTEC cabinets pull the airborne particulate thrown off by the cutting cylinders through this cartridge instead of releasing it into the room; Dahle rates it at up to 98% of fine shredding dust. It ships as one filter, not a multi-pack.

Compatible Models

Every DAHLE CleanTEC® shredder in the current line takes this filter, regardless of whether the machine is oil-free or fitted with the EvenFlow Lubricator®:

  • CleanTEC 41334, 41434, 41534 — high-security models with automatic oiler
  • CleanTEC 51314, 51414, 51464, 51514, 51564 — oil-free models
  • CleanTEC 51322, 51422, 51472, 51522, 51572 — automatic-oiler models

It does not fit Dahle machines outside the CleanTEC family. The PaperSAFE, ShredMATIC, PowerTEC® and standard 4-series cabinets have no dust-filtration stage and no filter housing.

Specifications

Part number 20710-21199
Type Replacement fine dust filter cartridge
Filtration Traps up to 98% of fine shredding dust (manufacturer figure)
Dimensions 4 x 4 x 1.38 in
Weight 1 lb

Fits DAHLE CleanTEC® shredders
Warranty 90 days

Dahle does not publish a fixed replacement interval, so treat it as condition-based: if the filter face is visibly loaded, or if staff start noticing dust around the machine again, change it. Sites shredding continuously through the day will get through filters considerably faster than a department machine used in short bursts. Ordering a spare to keep in the supply cupboard avoids running a CleanTEC with a saturated cartridge, which defeats the reason the machine was specified.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Dahle shredders does the 20710 filter fit?

All DAHLE CleanTEC models: 41334, 41434 and 41534 in the high-security range, the oil-free 51314, 51414, 51464, 51514 and 51564, and the automatic-oiler 51322, 51422, 51472, 51522 and 51572. Dahle lists the 20710 as the single replacement air filter across the CleanTEC family, so you do not need to match a sub-variant to your model. It will not fit PaperSAFE, ShredMATIC, PowerTEC or the non-CleanTEC 4-series machines, none of which have a filter housing.

How often should the filter be replaced?

Dahle does not publish a service interval for this part, so we cannot quote one. In practice it is a condition-based change: inspect the cartridge face and replace it when it is visibly loaded with dust or when the machine starts throwing visible particulate again. A shredder run near-continuously will consume filters far faster than one used for a few minutes a day, so a single calendar figure would be misleading.

Can the filter be vacuumed out and reused?

No. Dahle sells the 20710 as a replacement cartridge, not a washable or serviceable element, and there is no published cleaning procedure for it. Vacuuming the face may dislodge surface debris but will not restore the media, and aggressive cleaning can damage it. Replace it rather than attempt to recondition it.

Does a new filter come with the shredder?

Yes, a CleanTEC machine ships with its filter already installed. The 20710 is a consumable ordered separately once that original cartridge is loaded. If you are buying a new CleanTEC you do not need one on day one, though most facilities buy a spare at the same time so the change-out is not delayed by a purchase order.

Is 98% dust removal an independently certified figure?

It is Dahle's own stated performance for the CleanTEC filtration system, quoted as trapping up to 98% of fine shredding dust. We have not seen an independent third-party test report behind it, and there is no HEPA class or ISO 16890 rating published for this cartridge. Treat it as a manufacturer specification rather than a certified laboratory result.
