Which Dahle machines take the 20726 rather than the 20725?
Anything with a cabinet of 31 gallons or more, up to 55. That includes the 38-gallon 40530, 40534, 50514, 41534, 51514 and 51522; the 45-gallon 50564, 51564, 51572 and PowerTEC 919 IS; the 50-gallon 20392, 20394 and 20396; and the 53-gallon PowerTEC 707 PS. The 30-gallon and 23-gallon cabinets take the 20725 instead.
Will it fit the PowerTEC 747 CS?
Yes. The 747 CS has a 33-gallon waste bin, which is inside this bag's 31 to 55 gallon range. The same applies to the 727 CS at 33 gallons and the 828 HD at 31 gallons. Bear in mind that these machines shred optical media and hard drives as well as paper, so the bag contents can be sharp-edged and heavier than paper shred alone.
Is the plastic thicker than on the smaller bags?
No. The 20726 uses the same 1.5 mil gauge as the 20723, 20724 and 20725. Dahle only steps the thickness up on the two largest bags: 2 mil on the 20736 and 4 mil on the 20737. If you routinely overfill a 50-gallon cabinet, expect to handle a full bag carefully rather than relying on extra material strength.
How long will a box of 100 last?
It depends entirely on throughput. A department shredder emptied twice a week runs roughly a year on a box; a high-capacity machine on continuous confidential-waste duty can get through the same box in a couple of months. Track your own change-out rate for the first month and reorder against that rather than a calendar.
Can these bags be used in a non-Dahle shredder cabinet?
Yes, provided the cabinet volume is genuinely in the 31 to 55 gallon range and the bag's 24 x 48 x 20 inch footprint suits it. The bag has no Dahle-specific fixings. Measure the internal cabinet depth before ordering, because some third-party consoles are tall and narrow and a bag of this shape will not sit correctly in them.
