GBC Momentum Paper Shredder, M20-32, Micro-Cut, Anti-Jam, 20 Sheets

The GBC Momentum M20-32 is a departmental P-5 micro-cut shredder that takes 20 sheets of 20 lb paper per pass through a 12-inch throat and collects the particles, about 1.98 x 15.08 mm each, in a 32-gallon bin on castors. It is the largest micro-cut cabinet in the Momentum line. It is aimed at a department or a whole floor that shreds sensitive paper in volume, including wide ledger and A3 sheets.

Why the 12-inch throat changes how a floor uses it

The 9-inch Momentum models take letter, legal and A4, but anything wider has to be folded. On the M20-32 an 11 x 17 in ledger printout, an A3 report or an oversized form goes in flat, and a loose handful of mixed paper does not need squaring up first. That makes it the micro-cut Momentum to pick when the paper coming off desks is not all one size.

Twenty sheets per pass is a high rating for P-5, and the duty rating lets the M20-32 keep cutting until the 32-gallon bin is full. Active Sensing Anti-Jam reads the thickness of each stack on entry and stops the feed if it is too much, so an over-eager user does not wedge paper into the cutters.

Mixed media, weight and upkeep

ACCO approves the M20-32 for paper, CDs, DVDs, credit cards, paper clips, staples and junk mail. One machine can therefore take everything a department needs destroyed, provided discs go in one at a time. At 132.3 lb and over 40 inches tall it is a floor-standing unit; it rolls on castors, but check door widths and lifts before delivery.

Keep shredder oil (ACCO part 1760049) on the supply list, because micro-cut dust builds up quickly. ACCO publishes no bag part for the 32-gallon Momentum bin; its nearest listed size, the 30-gallon bag 1765015, does not name this model, so confirm fit before buying a case.

Who should buy the M20-32

It suits HR, legal, finance and healthcare departments that need P-5, shred in volume and handle wide paper or discs. It is more machine than a small office needs, and if P-4 satisfies your policy the X26-32 shreds more per pass. Material that requires P-6 or P-7 needs a high-security shredder outside the Momentum range.
