Description

The AutoFeed+ 750M is the top of the range on both counts at once: the largest hopper ACCO offers here and the finer of the two cutting heads. Seven hundred and fifty sheets go in, and what comes out is 2 x 15 mm micro-cut particles at DIN 66399 P-5.

There is no compromise built into that combination, which is unusual. The 750M keeps the 37-gallon bin, the four-hour run time and the two-year onsite warranty of the 750X, and gives up only the manual slot capacity — fifteen sheets instead of twenty. If your department has both a volume problem and a written security requirement, this is the model that answers both.

Key Features

  • P-5 micro-cut at 3/32 x 5/8 in (2 x 15 mm, 30 mm²), sitting exactly at the DIN 66399 P-5 ceiling.
  • 750-sheet locking hopper, the largest in the AutoFeed+ range.
  • 37-gallon pull-out bin, and micro-cut waste packs more densely than cross-cut, so it goes further here than the number suggests.
  • 240-minute run time.
  • Fifteen-sheet manual feed slot.
  • Accepts staples and paper clips from the hopper.
  • Two-year onsite warranty on a 21 x 23 x 42 in cabinet.

ACCO does not publish a basis weight behind the auto-feed and manual-feed sheet ratings, nor a motor wattage or shipping weight for this model, so those rows are omitted rather than estimated. Ratings in this category are normally quoted on paper lighter than US 20 lb bond, so treat the hopper figure as a best case.

What's in the Box

Shredder with auto-feed hopper, 37-gallon pull-out bin and power cord. ACCO's 1765015 30-gallon shredder bag (25 per box) names the 750M explicitly. Shredder oil is part 1760049 and should be treated as a standing consumable on a micro-cut machine, not an occasional one.

Who Should Buy This — and Who Should Not

Buy the 750M when a department produces a lot of paper and a policy names P-5. HR, payroll, clinical administration, claims handling and legal support all fit that description, and this is the only machine in the AutoFeed+ range that gives them a ream-and-a-half hopper without dropping to P-4. The onsite warranty is a practical consideration on a cabinet of this size.

Do not buy it if the security level has not been specified to you. The AutoFeed+ 750X is the same cabinet at P-4 with a larger manual slot, and P-4 satisfies most ordinary commercial destruction policies at lower cost. Do not buy it if noise matters — at 62 dB the AutoFeed+ 600M is the quieter P-5 option at 55 dB, with only 150 fewer sheets. And if you need P-6 or P-7, no auto-feed machine reaches those levels; high-security shredders take four to six sheets at a time and are a different purchase entirely.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is P-5 micro-cut the same as high security?

No. P-5 is the first of the micro-cut levels and is the usual answer for sensitive personal and financial data, but DIN 66399 runs to P-6 and P-7 above it, and those are what the phrase high security normally means in a procurement document. If a specification says high security without naming a level, ask which level before you buy — the difference between P-5 and P-7 is a factor of six in particle area and a completely different class of machine.

How often will the 37-gallon bin need emptying?

Around 1,000 to 1,300 sheets, better than the equivalent cross-cut machine because micro-cut particles are smaller and pack more tightly. In a department shredding steadily, that is typically a weekly job. The machine stops when the bin is full rather than jamming, so unattended runs are safe.

Can it shred staples and paper clips?

Yes, both, and they can go into the hopper without pre-sorting. Credit cards are accepted through the manual slot. Do not feed it CDs, DVDs, laminated pouches, adhesive labels or continuous form paper — none of them are rated for this machine, and a micro-cut head is less tolerant of them than a coarser one.

How often does it need oiling?

At minimum every time you empty the bin, and more often if it is running for long stretches. Micro-cut heads generate a lot of fine paper dust, and dust is the main cause of jams and cutter wear on machines at this level. Use ACCO's own oil, part 1760049; aerosol lubricants can damage the cutters and are not covered by the warranty.

What is the duty cycle?

Four hours of running, then a rest. Note that this is the same figure as the smaller 600M even though the hopper is 25 percent larger — the thermal budget did not scale with the capacity. Plan accordingly if you intend to run load after load.

Will legal paper fit?

Yes. The manual slot is 9.1 inches wide, which takes US legal at 8.5 inches and A4 at 8.27 inches without folding, and legal sheets load in the hopper as well. Keep stacks to one size where you can; mixed-size stacks are the most common cause of a stalled auto-feed.

Is this NSA approved?

No. NSA/CSS 02-01 requires a maximum 1 mm x 5 mm particle and requires the model to be on the NSA Evaluated Products List. P-5 at 2 x 15 mm is not close to that geometry, and no AutoFeed+ model is listed. P-5 alone is never NSA approval, whatever a reseller's copy may imply.
