The AutoFeed+ 150X is the model most home offices should look at first: it holds two and a half times what the 60X does, runs three times as long, and still fits in the same 15 by 17 inch floor space.

The difference is height. ACCO kept the footprint and stretched the cabinet to 25 inches to fit an 11.6-gallon bin under the same hopper mechanism, so a machine that occupies no more of your floor holds roughly twice the waste. If you have ever abandoned a shredding session because the bin filled halfway through, that is the specification that matters.

A note on the word micro-cut. ACCO labels the whole AutoFeed+ range micro-cut while rating the X models P-4 and the M models P-5. Under DIN 66399 a particle of roughly 4 x 30 mm belongs to the cross-cut classes; micro-cut begins at P-5, where the particle must be 30 mm² or smaller. We classify by the standard rather than the marketing term, so this machine files under cross-cut and P-4. If a policy names micro-cut and means P-5, an M model is the one that satisfies it.

ACCO does not publish a basis weight behind the auto-feed and manual-feed sheet ratings, nor a motor wattage or shipping weight for this model, so those rows are omitted rather than estimated. Ratings in this category are normally quoted on paper lighter than US 20 lb bond, so treat the hopper figure as a best case.

Bags are not included, and ACCO does not name a bag part number for the 11.6-gallon bin — its published sizes jump from 6-8 gallon (part 1765016) to 13-19 gallon (part 1765010). Ask us before ordering rather than guessing from a neighbouring model.

Who Should Buy This — and Who Should Not

Buy the 150X if one or two people generate a folder of confidential paper a month and you want to deal with it in a single sitting. The combination of a 150-sheet hopper and a 30-minute run time means one load, one walk away, one bin check. For a home office, a small practice or an executive's room, this is the size that stops shredding from being a chore you defer.

Do not buy it if the room is shared by more than about three people; at that point the AutoFeed+ 230X or 300X with their 16-gallon bins and 30- to 60-minute run times are better matched, and the 600X is the answer for a floor. Do not buy it if a policy names P-5: the AutoFeed+ 150M is the identical cabinet with a 2 x 15 mm micro-cut head, and it is the direct substitute. And if you need to destroy CDs or DVDs, no AutoFeed+ model is rated for optical media — that needs a different machine.
