GBC AutoFeed Plus 100M Shredder

The AutoFeed+ 100M is built around a simple idea: you should not have to stand at a shredder. Load up to 100 sheets into the locking hopper, close the lid and walk away - the machine feeds and destroys them on its own. What distinguishes the 100M from the otherwise identical 100X is the cutting head. It produces 2 x 15 mm particles at DIN 66399 level P-5, five times finer than the P-4 the X model manages, on the same 9-gallon cabinet.

Setting It Up

The cabinet occupies 15 by 17 inches and stands 21 inches tall, so it fits beside a desk or under a side table rather than needing its own corner. Give the back and sides a few inches of clearance for airflow, and keep the bin accessible from the front - emptying is the one routine task on this machine, and a unit wedged into a tight gap tends to get emptied late. Bin liners are the only real consumable.

Who Should Buy This - and Who Should Not

The 100M suits a home office, a one- or two-person practice, or an executive who accumulates a modest but genuinely sensitive stack of paper - client files, medical paperwork, financial statements - and wants it destroyed to P-5 without standing there. Choose the M over the X specifically because of the particle size; if security were not the point, the cheaper option would do.

Do not buy it for volume. One hundred sheets is a good afternoon's paper, not a filing cabinet, and the 9-gallon bin fills quickly with micro-cut waste. If you routinely have more, the AutoFeed+ 150M and 230M step up to 150 and 230 sheets with 11.6 and 16-gallon bins at the same P-5 security, and the 300M triples both the hopper and the run time. If you would rather have capacity than particle size, the AutoFeed+ 100X is the same machine at P-4 with a slightly higher 8-sheet manual feed. And if several people will share it all day, an auto-feed desktop machine is the wrong category entirely - a continuous-duty commercial cabinet such as the CX34-44 is the honest answer.
