GBC AutoFeed Plus 100M Shredder

The GBC AutoFeed+ 100M is a P-5 micro-cut auto-feed shredder: you load up to 100 sheets into its hopper, close the lid, and it cuts them into 3/32 x 5/8 in (2 x 15 mm) particles without anyone standing over it. It is the smallest micro-cut model in the AutoFeed+ line and fits a home office or a one- or two-person practice handling sensitive paperwork.

Why choose the micro-cut 100M over the 100X

The 100M and the AutoFeed+ 100X share a 100-sheet hopper and a 9-gallon bin. The difference is the cutting head. The 100X produces P-4 particles of about 4 x 30 mm (120 mm2); the 100M cuts 2 x 15 mm, or 30 mm2, which lands exactly on the P-5 limit and is a quarter of the area. Pick the 100M when client files, medical records or financial statements are what you shred, or when a written policy asks for more than P-4. The trade-off is a smaller manual slot: 6 sheets here against 8 on the 100X.

How a session with the 100M works

Stack the paper in the hopper, staples and paper clips included, and shut the lid. The machine pulls sheets from the stack on its own, and a full 100-sheet load finishes inside the 20-minute run limit. For a single receipt or a credit card, use the 9 in manual slot instead of opening the hopper; cards in particular feed more reliably by hand. Flatten creased or folded sheets before loading, as folds are a typical cause of misfeeds.

The cabinet measures 15 x 17 x 21 in, small enough to tuck beside a desk. Allow some space behind it for air and keep the front clear so the bin can slide out. Fine P-5 waste packs loosely, so the 9-gallon bin may need emptying after a few full loads. Bags are not supplied and GBC lists no bag part number for this bin.

Who the 100M suits

It is a good match for someone who builds up a modest pile of genuinely private paper and wants it reduced to P-5 particles without feeding it by hand. Optical discs are not on its accepted list. If you clear more than a hopper or two at a time, or several colleagues will share it all day, step up to a larger AutoFeed+ model or a continuous-duty commercial cabinet.
