GBC AutoFeed+ Home Office Shredder, 100X, Super Cross-Cut, P-4, 100 Sheets

The GBC AutoFeed+ 100X is a home-office auto-feed shredder that destroys up to 100 sheets per load to DIN 66399 P-4, cutting each page into 5/32 x 1 3/16 in (approx. 4 x 30 mm) super cross-cut particles. It is the lowest-cost way into the AutoFeed+ range, for a household or small workspace that wants personal and business paper shredded without feeding it by hand.

What the 100X does for a home office

Most home shredders fail for a simple reason: nobody wants to stand there feeding them a few sheets at a time, so bank statements and medical bills end up in a box. The 100X removes that chore. Drop up to 100 sheets in the hopper, staples and paper clips included, close the lid and walk away. A full load is designed to finish within the 20-minute run limit. For a single receipt or an old credit card, the 8.7 in manual slot takes up to 8 sheets and is the better route for rigid or creased items.

Is P-4 enough for your paper?

P-4 is the usual commercial level for confidential business records. DIN 66399 allows up to 160 mm2 per particle at this level, and the 100X produces about 120 mm2. Unless a client contract, regulator or written policy has named P-5, it is likely to be enough. One terminology point: GBC literature has called this head micro-cut, but under the DIN standard true micro-cut starts at P-5 (30 mm2 or less). A specification that demands micro-cut in that sense needs the AutoFeed+ 100M.

Fitting the 100X into a small room

The cabinet stands 21 in tall on a 15 x 17 in base, which suits the side of a desk or a closet corner. Keep the front clear so the 9-gallon bin can slide out. P-4 cross-cut waste settles more readily than the finer micro-cut shred, so the bin goes a little further than on the 100M. Bags are bought separately; no part number is published.

Who the 100X is for

Buy it for a home office or a one- or two-person workspace that wants paperwork destroyed reliably at P-4. Look at the 100M if P-5 is required, and at a continuous-duty cabinet such as the GBC CX22-44 if several people will use it through the day. CDs and DVDs are not on its accepted list.
