The AutoFeed+ 60X is the smallest machine ACCO builds around the idea that nobody should have to stand at a shredder. Sixty sheets go into the locking hopper, the lid closes, and the machine feeds and destroys the stack on its own while you do something else.

Everything else in the AutoFeed+ range is a larger version of this. What sets the 60X apart is that it is sized for one desk rather than one department: a 5.25-gallon bin, a 16-inch-tall cabinet and a ten-minute run time that is matched to the hopper rather than to a working day. It is the right machine when the volume is a few handfuls of paper a week and the real problem is that the shredding never gets done.

• 60-sheet locking hopper. Load it, close the lid, walk away. The lock matters more than it sounds: paper waiting to be destroyed is paper sitting in the open, and a hopper that latches turns the shredder into a temporary secure container.
• Six-sheet manual feed slot for the single page, the folded receipt or the expired card you do not want to open the hopper for.

A note on the word micro-cut. ACCO labels the whole AutoFeed+ range micro-cut while rating the X models P-4 and the M models P-5. Under DIN 66399 a particle of roughly 4 x 30 mm belongs to the cross-cut classes; micro-cut begins at P-5, where the particle must be 30 mm² or smaller. We classify by the standard rather than the marketing term, so this machine files under cross-cut and P-4. If a policy names micro-cut and means P-5, an M model is the one that satisfies it.

Specifications

ACCO does not publish a basis weight behind the auto-feed and manual-feed sheet ratings, nor a motor wattage or shipping weight for this model, so those rows are omitted rather than estimated. Ratings in this category are normally quoted on paper lighter than US 20 lb bond, so treat the hopper figure as a best case.

What's in the Box

Shredder with auto-feed hopper, 5.25-gallon pull-out bin and power cord. Shred bags are not included. ACCO lists part 1765016 (6-8 gallon plastic shredder bags) as the correct liner for the 60X. Shredder oil is also separate; ACCO part 1760049 is the 16 oz bottle.

Who Should Buy This — and Who Should Not

Buy the 60X if you are one person with a steady trickle of confidential paper — bank statements, client correspondence, medical letters, old tax records — and the honest reason it has not been shredded is that feeding a desktop machine sheet by sheet is tedious. P-4 is the ordinary commercial standard for business records, and an automatic hopper is the feature that actually changes behaviour.

Do not buy it for a shared office. Sixty sheets is a small stack and 5.25 gallons of cross-cut waste fills faster than you would expect; two or three people feeding it will spend their time emptying the bin. The AutoFeed+ 150X and 230X are the same machine with bigger hoppers, longer run times and 11.6- and 16-gallon bins. Do not buy it either if a contract or regulator has named P-5 or micro-cut in the strict DIN sense — no 60X variant is offered at P-5, so the smallest answer there is the AutoFeed+ 100M at 2 x 15 mm.
