A note on the word micro-cut. ACCO labels the whole AutoFeed+ range micro-cut while rating the X models P-4 and the M models P-5. Under DIN 66399 a particle of roughly 4 x 30 mm belongs to the cross-cut classes; micro-cut begins at P-5, where the particle must be 30 mm² or smaller. We classify by the standard rather than the marketing term, so this machine files under cross-cut and P-4. If a policy names micro-cut and means P-5, an M model is the one that satisfies it.

Who Should Buy This — and Who Should Not

Buy the 600X for a floor, a records room or a department that shreds every day. The four-hour duty cycle and the 29-gallon bin mean it can absorb a team's output without anyone timing their run, and at 55 dB it can live in a shared space rather than being exiled to a corridor. The onsite warranty is worth reading closely if you are comparing on price alone.

Do not buy it if the hopper is the constraint rather than the duty cycle: the AutoFeed+ 750X adds 150 sheets, a 37-gallon bin and a 20-sheet manual slot on the same four hours, at the cost of seven decibels. Do not buy it if you need P-5 — the AutoFeed+ 600M is the identical cabinet with a 2 x 15 mm micro-cut head. And if you need genuinely continuous, all-day destruction with a wide throat for whole file boxes, an auto-feed hopper is the wrong architecture; a commercial cabinet such as the GBC CX34-44 is built for that.
