The GBC AutoFeed+ 600X is an office auto-feed shredder built for a whole department: it loads 600 sheets, runs for four hours and cuts to DIN 66399 P-4 super cross-cut particles of 5/32 x 1 3/16 in (approx. 4 x 30 mm) into a 29-gallon bin. At 55 dB it can share a floor with the people who use it, and it carries a two-year onsite warranty.

The jump from batch shredder to department machine

Below the 600X, AutoFeed+ models clear one batch and then rest; the 300X, for example, is rated for 60 minutes. The 600X runs for four hours. In practice that means it can be filled first thing, refilled after lunch and still be within its rating, so nobody has to keep an eye on the clock. The 29-gallon bin is sized to match, absorbing a team's output for far longer than the 16-gallon bins on the smaller cabinets. Onsite warranty cover is a real benefit on a machine this size, which nobody wants to box up and ship back.

Day-to-day use on a shared floor

Staples and paper clips stay in, which is what makes a shared machine work: you cannot count on every colleague to de-staple. The 15-sheet manual slot, 9.1 in wide, handles credit cards and anything creased or awkward. For bags, GBC part 1765015, a 30-gallon liner sold 25 per box, names the 600X on its compatibility list; oil is part 1760049. Although quiet for its capacity, a 55 dB shredder under load is still noticed nearby, so an alcove or copy room is the ideal spot. GBC sells the head as micro-cut, but its 120 mm2 particle is P-4 cross-cut by the DIN definition.

Who the 600X is for

It suits a floor, records room or department that shreds daily and wants one quiet machine to handle it at P-4. Move to the 600M if P-5 is required, the 750X if bin size is the pinch point and noise is not, or a commercial cabinet if material arrives by the box and must be fed all day. It is not NSA listed and does not accept optical media.
