HSM WG 40 (part 6212 993 010) is an 11.7 mm polyester baler tape rated at 380 kg tensile strength, sold as a single 500 m roll. It is the HSM tape with the widest machine coverage, running on the 12 Gigant, several Dixi models and most mid-size V-Press balers from the 503 up to the 830. Buy it for presses that need more holding power than 8 mm WG 30 provides.

HSM's current data includes the V-Press 718 plus C, even though it is absent from the product name on this page and from many dealer listings. The 503, 504 and 605 accept either WG 30 or WG 40; stay with the width the press was commissioned on.

Where WG 40 sits between WG 30 and WG 55

Compared with WG 30, WG 40 is the wider, stronger strap and a heavier roll for the same 500 m. It is not the tape for the big V-Press 860 or 1160; those strap with wire as standard and use the wider WG 55 when the optional tape station is fitted.

A small paperwork note: HSM's 2018 vertical baler brochure prints the width as 11.5 mm for the same article. The difference is within tape tolerance and does not change fitment.
