Frequently Asked Questions
How many wires does one bale take?
Four. HSM specifies four-fold horizontal strapping with quick-link wire on both the HL 4809 ST and the HL 7009. An HL 7009 bale can reach 600 kg, so the four wires are carrying real load - do not reduce the count to stretch a bundle.
Can I use this on a V-Press vertical baler?
No. The V-Press machines take pre-looped wire in 2.8 mm - part 6135 993 002 at 3,700 mm or 6136 993 002 at 4,400 mm. Even though the 4,400 mm length matches the V-Press 1160 wire, the diameter is different at 2.45 mm rather than 2.8 mm and the end fitting is a quick link rather than a formed loop.
How many wires come in a pack?
HSM does not publish a packaging unit or bundle weight for article 6236 993 145, and neither does the horizontal baling press brochure. We have not been able to verify a quantity from a manufacturer source, so please confirm the pack size with us before ordering if you are budgeting by piece.
Will it fit an HL 4809 or HL 4812?
HSM's 2016 horizontal baling press brochure lists article 6236 993 145 against the HL 7009, HL 4809 and HL 4812. Current HSM product data lists only the HL 4809 ST and HL 7009. Both statements come from HSM, published at different times, so for an HL 4809 or HL 4812 we would check with the manufacturer against your machine's serial number first.
