Pre-looped wire 2,80x4400 for V-Press 1160 - HSM6136993002

HSM part 6136 993 002 is the 4,400 mm (approx. 173.2 in) pre-looped baling wire made for one machine only: the HSM V-Press 1160 vertical baler. The wire is 2.8 mm (0.11 in) in diameter, comes with its loop already formed, and is supplied in 10 kg (22 lb) bundles. The extra length over HSM's 3,700 mm wire is needed because the 1160 produces a larger, heavier bale.

Why the V-Press 1160 needs a longer wire

A V-Press 1160 bale measures 1200 x 1100 x up to 1200 mm and can weigh up to 550 kg. That cross-section is too big for the 3,700 mm wire used on the V-Press 860 and VL models to close around, so HSM specifies this 4,400 mm version, 700 mm longer. Strapping is still quick: the operator threads each pre-formed loop through the channels and hooks it shut, without a tensioner.

In its standard wire configuration the 1160 ties each bale four-fold, meaning four of these wires per bale. A site producing several bales per shift will empty a bundle quickly, so holding more than one in reserve makes sense. HSM gives the bundle weight but not the number of wires inside.

Avoiding the most common reorder mistake

This wire and part 6135 993 002 (3,700 mm) share the same diameter, look alike in a stack and cost about the same. A short wire usually shows up only after a bale is already compressed and waiting to be tied. Label storeroom shelves by part number and check the length before a bundle goes to the press.

Tape-station machines use a different consumable

A V-Press 1160 can be supplied with an optional polyester tape station. A press configured that way ties with WG 55 tape, part 6514 993 000, a 14.6 mm polyester tape rated 670 kg on a 400 m roll, and does not use this wire. Machines are set up for one method or the other, so order the consumable that matches yours.
