Pre-looped wire is the standard strapping consumable for HSM's large vertical balers - not an alternative to tape, but the method those presses ship with. Each wire is 2.8 mm in diameter and 3,700 mm long with the loop already formed, so the operator threads it through the bale channels and closes it without a tensioning tool. HSM supplies it in 10 kg bundles. The 3,700 mm length is what distinguishes this article from its sibling: the V-Press 1160 takes the longer 4,400 mm wire, part 6136 993 002.

The V-Press 860 straps four-fold with wire and produces a bale of 1200 x 780 x up to 1200 mm weighing as much as 480 kg, so each bale consumes four of these wires. HSM supplies two coils of this wire as part of the machine's basic equipment.

Reorder by part number 6135 993 002. HSM publishes the bundle weight but not the number of wires it contains, so if you plan consumable stock by bale count, weigh a bundle on arrival and work from that.

One thing worth checking before you order: the V-Press 860 and 1160 can be supplied with an optional polyester tape station instead of wire. If yours has one, the consumable is WG 55 tape, part 6514 993 000, and this wire will not be used. Look at what came off the machine last time rather than at the model number alone.
