Kobra 430 TS C2 AO (Conveyor Belt)

The Kobra 430 TS C2 AO (Conveyor Belt) is an industrial P-5 shredder that cuts paper to 1.9 x 15 mm particles, fed by a conveyor belt into a 17.2 in (430 mm) throat and processing up to 330 lb (150 kg) per hour. A touch screen runs the machine, an integrated oiler looks after the cutting head, and waste drops into a 124-gallon (470-liter) chamber. It is aimed at contractors, law and finance firms and in-house destruction rooms whose policy or client contracts call for P-5 at volume.

What P-5 means at 28.5 mm²

DIN 66399 grades by particle area. A P-5 particle can be no larger than 30 mm², and this machine's 1.9 x 15 mm cut lands at 28.5 mm². It falls short of P-6, which caps area at 10 mm² and width at 1 mm, so be wary of any quote that labels a 1.9 x 15 mm machine P-6. The full classification is P-5, O-4, T-5, E-4 and F-2, which also covers cards, optical discs, floppy disks and USB pen drives on the approved list.

Keeping a fine head running all shift

A P-5 head working at industrial pace makes fine dust and needs steady lubrication. The AO system doses oil automatically, leaving the operator to keep the reservoir filled and check it during servicing. The belt meters paper into the throat, so one person can stage the next load while the current one runs; spread documents in an even layer rather than heaping them, and keep binders, plastic sleeves and hanging-file rails off the belt. The touch screen covers run, reverse, belt and oiling functions and stops the machine on a full bag or open door. Kobra rates the motor for continuous duty; the thermal protection is a fault safeguard.

Installation and bag handling

The US model needs a 208 V three-phase, 60 Hz supply at 30 A per phase, connected by an electrician; it does not plug into a wall outlet. Bags are not included. P-5 waste is dense, so a full 470-liter bag is a two-person lift, which is why many sites choose the two-bag setup.

Who should order the 430 TS C2 AO

It suits operations with written P-5 requirements and paper that arrives in cartons rather than folders, and with three-phase power already in place.
