HSM V-Press 860 Plus Vertical Bailing Press

The HSM V-Press 860 plus (article 6148213) is a 594 kN vertical baling press for cardboard, mixed paper and plastic film that ties mill-size bales of up to 1,058 lb (480 kg) with wire. What it adds over the 860 eco is a power-assisted door whose upper half pushes down and opens by itself when compression ends. It is intended for stores, warehouses and plants where staff use the baler many times a shift between other tasks.

Why a self-opening door matters on a busy site

When a baler is fed by people who are also receiving, picking or stocking, every step that makes them wait at the machine is a reason to leave cardboard in the aisle. On the 860 plus, the operator loads, shuts the door, and the press starts by itself; when the stroke is done, the upper door half lowers and opens without anyone touching it. The eco performs the same pressing work but leaves the doors to the operator. The plus therefore earns its premium on sites where the machine cycles often and no one is assigned to it.

The rest of the 860 chassis

The press, opening and bale are shared with the eco, so bale handling, stacking and wire are identical across the two. HSM's Torsion Control System monitors the ram for twist, rapid stroke technology gives a 25 s theoretical idle cycle, and a hand wheel with counter-rotating thread locks both door halves at once. A membrane keypad shows status and faults in text. The published noise level is approx. 62.9 dB(A), with no measuring distance stated.

The door mechanism adds size: the plus is 1,579 mm deep against the eco's 1,363 mm and weighs 2,030 kg, 130 kg more. It stands 2,985 mm tall and needs a ceiling of at least 3,000 mm. It ships skidded with operating instructions and must be rigged in and wired to 480 V / 60 Hz three-phase power. Wire is extra: 2.8 x 3,700 mm pre-looped, part 6135 993 002. WG 55 tape (part 6514 993 000) needs the optional tape station specified with the order.

• 860 eco: identical force, opening, bale and wire with hand-operated doors, 216 mm shallower and 130 kg lighter. Better when one person bales in scheduled batches or depth is tight.
• 860 plus B: a 1,500 mm wide opening and 550 kg bales for bulky film and oversized cartons, but approved for cardboard and film only.
• VK 2306 channel baler: the next step once material arrives by conveyor or from a shredder discharge rather than by hand.

Who should buy the 860 plus

It suits a site where the baler is used constantly by people with other jobs and mixed paper is part of the stream. If baling happens in planned sessions with someone standing by, the eco does the same work for less. If your packaging regularly exceeds 1,195 mm in width, the plus B is the better tool.
