HSM V-Press 860 Plus B Vertical Bailing Press

The HSM V-Press 860 plus B (article 6158113) is the wide-opening member of HSM's 860 vertical baler family: its loading aperture is 59.06 in (1,500 mm) wide, 305 mm wider than the standard 860, and it presses cardboard and plastic film at 594 kN into bales of up to 1,213 lb (550 kg). It is built for warehouses, retailers and logistics sites whose waste is dominated by stretch wrap, poly bags and oversized cartons that would otherwise have to be cut down before baling.

Why the wide opening changes the job

Feeding is the bottleneck on any hand-loaded baler, and the most time is lost when packaging is wider than the door. With 1,500 mm to work with, large appliance and furniture boxes, film wrap pulled off pallets and big bags can go straight in. The extra width brings no extra height: the opening is 651 mm high, practically the same as the other 860 models. HSM positions this version for large, dense bales that can ship without further compression, and its bales run to 550 kg against 480 kg on the eco and plus.

Material list: cardboard and film only

HSM's approved list for this model covers cardboard and plastic film. Mixed paper, which the 860 eco and 860 plus both accept, is not on its list. A baler's approved materials reflect its chamber, tying and ejection design as well as its force, so if office paper forms a real part of your waste, the 860 plus is the better fit.

Shared 860 features

Like its siblings, the plus B uses the HSM Torsion Control System to watch the ram for twisting, rapid stroke technology for a 25 s theoretical idle cycle, and automatic start once the door is shut. A hand wheel with a counter-rotating thread locks both door halves, and once compression ends the upper half lowers and swings open on its own. The membrane keypad shows states and faults as text. HSM publishes no noise figure for this version.

It is the largest and heaviest 860: 2,086 x 1,567 x 2,990 mm and 5,159 lb (2,340 kg). It ships skidded with operating instructions, needs rigging and a 480 V / 60 Hz three-phase connection, and uses 2.8 x 3,700 mm pre-looped wire (part 6135 993 002), sold separately. Tape tying with WG 55 (part 6514 993 000) is possible only on machines built with the tape station.

Choosing within the 860 range

• 860 plus: the same self-opening door with a 1,195 mm opening and 480 kg bales, approved for mixed paper too, and 335 mm narrower.
• 860 eco: manual doors, same force and materials as the plus, at a lower cost for ordinary cartons baled in batches.

Who the 860 plus B suits

Pick it if your waste is bulky rather than heavy: pallet wrap, shrink film, poly bags and large cartons. It is a natural starting point for film-heavy sites. Look at another 860 if mixed paper is a significant stream, if floor width is tight, or if you need a published noise figure for a workplace assessment.
