How much oil is in the case in total?
Four US gallons, supplied as four separate one-gallon bottles rather than one large container. That works out to 512 fluid ounces, the equivalent of thirty-two of HSM's 16 fl oz squeeze bottles. Be aware that some retail listings state the case capacity incorrectly as 16 gallons, apparently by multiplying the bottle count by the wrong figure; the correct total is four US gallons.
Is a funnel included?
We cannot confirm that. Some distributor listings for HSM315P mention a funnel in the case and others do not, and HSM's own part data does not settle it. Rather than promise something that may not be in the box, assume it is four bottles and nothing else, and ask us if a funnel matters to you.
Who actually needs four gallons?
Sites running several HSM machines with automatic oilers, and third-party service companies doing maintenance rounds. A single office shredder will not consume this in any reasonable time frame. If you have one or two machines, part 3200000003 (twelve 16 oz bottles) or 3200000004 (a single gallon) is the better buy.
Does shredder oil have a shelf life?
HSM does not publish one for this product, so we will not quote a figure. As a petroleum hydraulic oil in a sealed container it is stable for a long time; what degrades it is contamination and water ingress once opened. Keep the bottles closed, stored indoors and away from heat, and use them in rotation.
