What is the difference between HSM 3200000002 and the 12 oz bottle?
Only the size. This bottle holds 16 fl oz, one US pint, while part 3200000006 holds 12 fl oz. The oil, viscosity grade and narrow tip are the same. Some distributors list this pint bottle as HSM314.
Can I use HSM 16 oz oil in a P-6 or P-7 high-security shredder?
Yes. HSM lists this lubricant for its high-security machines, and they benefit most from regular oiling. Micro-cut heads have far more cutting edges in contact with the paper, so they run hotter and wear faster when dry.
Will the HSM 3200000002 refill my shredder's auto-oiler?
Yes. HSM shredders with a factory automatic oiler use this same oil in the reservoir, and the machine handles the dosing. Check your manual for the fill point and level, because overfilling can put oil into the paper path.
How long does a pint of HSM shredder oil last?
It depends on the machine and how hard it works, so there is no fixed figure. A micro-cut shredder oiled at every bin change will use it much faster than an occasionally used cross-cut office machine. If one bottle lasts months on a busy shredder, it is probably being under-oiled.
Does the HSM pint bottle have an extension nozzle?
No separate extension is listed. The bottle has a narrowed tip for controlled application along the cutting head. If your shredder's oiling point is hard to reach, check your machine's manual or ask us which applicator HSM supplies for that model.
