Description

Genuine HSM 168-gallon shredder bags for the Powerline FA 500.3, the KP 100 baling press and the 1049SA, supplied 50 to a carton. At 27 x 28 x 60 inches these are tall bags built for the deep collection chamber on HSM's larger industrial machines, in clear film so the fill level is visible at a glance.

Compatible Models

  • HSM Powerline FA 500.3 document shredder
  • HSM KP 100 baling press
  • HSM 1049SA

They are not a fit for the FA 400 series, which takes part 3310000007 for a single-bin setup or 3310000011 for a double-bin setup.

These are genuine HSM bags, sized to the machine's bin or baler chamber. Undersized generic sacks are the usual cause of bags collapsing into the chamber or tearing on removal, which costs more in cleanup time than the bags save. Order by the HSM part number below rather than by capacity alone, because several HSM bags share similar gallon ratings but differ in width and height, and it is the dimensions that decide whether a bag holds on the retaining frame.

Store rolls flat and out of direct sunlight; polyethylene film left in a hot window becomes brittle and tears at the seam when loaded. Because shredded paper is mostly air, plan reorder points on how quickly your bins actually fill rather than on the weight of paper you process, and remember that a finer security level uses noticeably more bags for the same input.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will these fit an FA 400?

No. The FA 400 takes either the 212-gallon bag, part 3310000007, on a single-bin setup, or the 92-gallon bag, part 3310000011, on a double-bin setup. This 168-gallon bag is dimensioned for the FA 500.3 chassis and the KP 100 and 1049SA chambers, and its 60-inch height is wrong for the FA 400 cabinet.

Is this the same as HSM2728?

Yes. HSM2728 is HSM of America's catalogue number for the same bag that HSM lists as article 3310000010. Both describe the clear 168-gallon bag at 27 x 28 x 60 inches, packed 50 per carton.

Can I use these in the KP 100 baler as well as the shredder?

Yes, HSM lists the KP 100 baling press among the compatible machines for this part alongside the FA 500.3 and the 1049SA. If you run an FA 500.3 discharging into a KP 100 you can stock a single bag part number for both, which is one of the practical reasons this size exists.

How many come in a pack, and is there a smaller quantity?

Fifty per carton, and that is the only pack size. For a machine of the FA 500.3's throughput a carton is not a large commitment, but it is worth checking storage space since the bags are bulky in the box.

Do these work with a shredder set to a high security level?

The bag itself does not care about the cut size, but your consumption will. A finer particle expands more for the same input weight, so an FA 500.3 configured for P-5 will fill a 168-gallon bag considerably faster than the same machine cutting at P-4. Plan bag stock around your actual security setting, not around sheet counts.
