HSM SECURIO P44i 1/32 x 3/16 plus OMDD Cutting Unit 2x2mm - HSM1874M

The HSM SECURIO P44i 1/32 x 3/16 plus OMDD Cutting Unit 2x2mm (HSM1874M) pairs a P-7 paper head, cutting 1 x 5 mm particles, with a separate 2 x 2 mm OMDD cutter for optical discs and cards rated O-6 and T-6. Paper goes in through a 15.75 in (400 mm) opening at 11 sheets per pass and fills a 54.2-gallon (205 l) bin, while media collects in its own container. It is meant for high-security environments that must destroy documents and discs to top classes on a single large machine.

Two top-class cutters in one cabinet

The paper-only HSM1874 carries no optical or data-carrier rating at all. Adding the OMDD (optical media data destruction) unit changes that: CDs, DVDs, credit and loyalty cards and floppy disks are reduced to 2 x 2 mm pieces, reaching O-6 and T-6, close to the top of the DIN 66399 scales for those media. By comparison, the 4 x 7 mm CD units on HSM's P-4 and P-5 models stop at O-4.

The two cutters are physically separate, each with its own waste container. Discs never pass through the P-7 paper head, which they would damage, and the paper bin stays free of plastic and metallized film, so media waste can follow a separate e-waste route.

Working with a P-7 OMDD machine

At 11 sheets per pass, preparation and pacing matter. HSM does not list staples or paper clips for the 1 x 5 mm head, so documents should be cleared of metal before feeding. The 1900 W IntelligentDrive has three operating modes and recognizes an overloaded feed as it enters, and the built-in oiler keeps the fine cutting unit lubricated. Top it up with HSM cutting block special oil.

The OMDD container is emptied directly. The 205 liter paper bin takes the HSM reusable collecting bag or the P44i cardboard disposal box, ordered separately. HSM's lifetime cutting-roller warranty stops at P-5, so this model carries the 3-year machine warranty. The P44i does not appear on the NSA Evaluated Products List dated July 2025; the HSM configuration listed there is the smaller SECURIO P40i L6 OMDD Combi.

It suits government contractors, defense, research and other teams destroying top-tier paper and optical media in volume. Choose the P40i OMDD configuration if an NSA listing is a contractual requirement, and a P-5 model if your material is commercially sensitive rather than classified.
