HSM SECURIO P44i 1/32 x 3/16 plus OMDD Cutting Unit 2x2mm - HSM1874M

This configuration puts the two highest destruction classes HSM offers into one large-format machine: P-7 for paper at 1 x 5 mm, and O-6 and T-6 for optical media and data carriers from a separate 2 x 2 mm OMDD unit with its own waste container. The plain P44i 1 x 5 mm accepts paper and nothing else, so if your high-security requirement covers discs, cards or floppy disks as well as documents, this is the article that covers all of it without a second machine on the floor.

• 11 sheets per pass at 80 g/m2. Two more than the P40i equivalent, which adds up over a long purge.
• 1900 W IntelligentDrive with jam prevention. Three operating modes and detection of over-thick stacks on entry, which matters when the limit is 11 sheets.
• Integrated automatic oiler. Essential on a 1 x 5 mm cutting unit. Refilled with HSM cutting block special oil rather than lubricated by hand.
• Separate media waste container. Keeps the 205 litre paper bin a clean paper stream and lets media waste follow an e-waste route.

Specifications

Sheet capacities are HSM's per-model figures at 80 g/m2 A4. HSM's range brochure quotes capacity at 70 g/m2, which reads roughly 15 percent higher, so figures quoted elsewhere may not match.

What's in the Box

Delivered with both cutting units fitted, the 205 litre paper container, the separate OMDD waste container and the factory-installed automatic oiler. Collection bags and the P44i cardboard disposal box are not included, nor is cutting block special oil. At 111 kg, plan delivery access and final position in advance.

Who Should Buy This - and Who Should Not

Buy it if you destroy classified or otherwise top-tier material in both paper and optical form, at a volume that makes the P40i's nine-sheet limit painful. This is the most capable single machine in the SECURIO i range for that job.

Do not buy it if you specifically need NSA-listed equipment. The P44i does not appear on the NSA/CSS Evaluated Products List for paper shredders dated July 2025; the HSM machine on it is the SECURIO P40i L6 (1 x 5 mm) OMDD Combi, which is the smaller chassis with the same cut sizes. Do not buy it either if your material is commercially sensitive rather than classified: at 11 sheets a pass this machine will noticeably slow a busy department, and the P44i 1.9 x 15 mm at P-5 does 25 to 27 sheets, still handles CDs and USB sticks, and keeps HSM's lifetime cutting-roller warranty, which stops at P-5 and therefore does not apply here.
