The finest B34 cut that keeps lifetime roller cover

HSM's lifetime warranty on its induction-hardened solid steel rollers runs from P-2 to P-5. On the B34 chassis, this 1.9 x 15 mm head is the last stop before that cover ends. The P-6 and P-7 versions of the same cabinet give up the lifetime cover and drop to eight and five sheets per pass. For many buyers, P-5 at 13 to 15 sheets with lifetime roller cover is the better long-term choice than going finer.

Compared with P-4, the jump is real: P-4 allows up to 160 mm² per particle, roughly five times the area of this one.

Living with the oiler

A fine particle head dries out faster than a coarse one, and dry rollers cut poorly and strain the motor. The oiler applies lubricant automatically during operation, drawing from a bottle you refill. HSM does not publish a refill interval, and its documents do not confirm whether a filled bottle ships with the unit, so order HSM shredder oil with the machine and check the level when you empty the bin.

The oiler adds 50 mm to the side of the cabinet, bringing width to 591 mm against 541 mm for the plain model. Leave room in front to draw out the 100-liter container and on the oiler side for bottle changes.
