HSM SECURIO B34 1/16 x 5/8 Cross Cut Document Shredder - HSM1842

The HSM SECURIO B34 1/16 x 5/8 (HSM1842) is a departmental shredder that cuts paper to 1.9 x 15 mm particles at DIN 66399 P-5 while still accepting 13 to 15 sheets per pass. Its 700 W motor, 310 mm throat and 100-liter bin are sized for HR, claims, legal and finance teams that must meet P-5 and shred every day.

Keeping throughput at P-5

Moving up a security level usually means feeding fewer sheets. The deskside SECURIO B24 with the identical 1.9 x 15 mm cut takes 9-11 sheets on a 610 W motor. The B34 pairs a 700 W drive with a wider cutting assembly and reaches 13-15. Across a working week, that gap decides whether people use the shredder or leave paper piling up beside it.

The bin is generous as well. Fine particles pack tightly, so HSM rates the 100-liter container at around 1,273 sheets. When it fills, the display shows it and the machine stops, so it never forces waste back into the head. A wide door and an inspection window make emptying a 42 kg machine manageable.

What the B34 P-5 will and will not take

Approved materials are paper, staples, paper clips and credit cards. There is no optical-media rating on this head, so discs need a separate route, such as a P-4 machine rated O-3. The induction-hardened solid steel rollers carry HSM's lifetime warranty, which runs up to P-5 and so includes this model.
