HSM SECURIO B32 3/16 x 1 1/8 Cross Cut Document Shredder - HSM1823

The HSM SECURIO B32 3/16 x 1 1/8 (HSM1823) is a freestanding P-4 cross-cut shredder that reduces each sheet to 4.5 x 30 mm particles and takes 14-16 sheets of 80 g/m² paper per pass. Its 82-liter container holds roughly 1,002 shredded sheets, making it a sensible shared machine for a department that handles invoices, applications and other paper carrying names.

One P-4 machine for paper, discs and cards

Many offices end up running two disposal routes: a shredder for paper and a box for old discs and cards. The B32 cross cut removes that split. Besides P-4 for documents, HSM gives it O-3 for optical media and T-4 for card-type data carriers, and the approved list covers paper with staples and paper clips, credit cards and CDs or DVDs. Feed discs and cards one at a time.

The solid steel cutting rollers are induction-hardened and covered for life; the machine as a whole carries three years. Cross-cut heads gather paper dust, so plan to lubricate per the operating instructions, or choose HSM18234, the same model with an external automatic oiler.

Built to stand in a shared space

At about 31 inches tall on castors, the B32 is a piece of departmental equipment rather than something for under a desk. When the bin is full the display says so and the machine shuts itself off, so the next person is warned rather than left with a jam. A light barrier starts and stops the cutters automatically, a quiet operating mode is available, idle noise is quoted at about 56 dB(A), and EcoSmart standby draws 0.1 W. The cabinet has an inspection window and a safety element over the intake, and the machine is Blue Angel certified and made in Germany.

Consumables are not included. Disposable 34-gallon HSM bags come on 100-count rolls as part 3310000004, and a reusable blue nylon bag, 3NB210R03330, fits both the B32 and B34.
