If you want the fastest B32 for bulk paper, this is it. The 5.8 mm strip-cut SECURIO B32 takes 25 to 27 sheets of 80 g/m2 paper in one pass - more than any other cut on this chassis - and rates DIN 66399 P-2. The trade-off is stated plainly on the machine: a 5.8 mm ribbon is a wide shred, and it is only appropriate for paper you would not mind a determined person reassembling given enough time and patience.

Key Features

• Highest sheet capacity on the B32 chassis. At 25 to 27 sheets per pass it clears a stack noticeably faster than the 3.9 mm strip version and roughly twice as fast as the P-4 cross-cut B32.
• Rated for staples and paper clips. The solid steel rollers are induction hardened, so stapled document sets do not need to be taken apart before shredding. That saves more operator time in practice than the sheet count does.
• Light barrier start and stop. The rollers spin up when paper breaks the beam and stop once the throat is clear, so there is no manual run cycle and no motor left running between users.
• 310 mm feed opening. Wide enough for letter, legal and tabloid sheets fed short edge first, and wide enough that a slightly skewed stack still goes in cleanly.
• 82-litre bin with a fill-level window. HSM rates the container at about 539 sheets of 5.8 mm strip waste - fewer than the finer cuts, because wide ribbons trap a lot of air.
• EcoSmart control. Standby draw is 0.1 W, so leaving the cabinet powered between uses costs essentially nothing.

The HSM SECURIO B32 arrives assembled: the cutting head and cabinet are a single unit, with the 82 l (21.7 gal) waste container in place behind the cabinet door, plus the mains lead and the HSM operating manual. There is no oiler on this article — lubrication, where required, is a manual task.

Shredder bags and HSM's fitting cardboard waste box are consumables and are not included — order them with the machine if you do not intend to empty the container loose. A strip-cut head of this size is not on HSM’s routine oiling schedule, so no oil is needed to put it into service.

Who Should Buy This — and Who Should Not

This is the right machine for a mailroom, a print room or a general office that is clearing volume: obsolete forms, misprints, old marketing collateral, internal circulars. If throughput is the constraint and the content is not sensitive, a wide strip cut is the honest, economical answer.

It is the wrong machine if a regulator, auditor or client contract is going to ask what security level you destroy at. P-2 will not satisfy HIPAA-adjacent scrutiny, and it should never be used for personnel files, financial records or anything with account numbers on it. For those, move to the 4.5 x 30 mm B32 at P-4, or to P-5 and above if the policy is explicit.
