The HSM SECURIO B32 HSM18244 (article 1824113O) is the P-7 B32, cutting paper to a 1 x 5 mm particle, with HSM's external automatic oiler mounted on the cabinet at the factory. Cutting performance matches the standard model, four sheets of 80 g/m² paper per pass at the top DIN 66399 paper level, while the oiler keeps the most demanding head in the range lubricated. It is the version to choose when a P-7 shredder will be shared by several people.

Why the oiler earns its place on a P-7 head

A 1 x 5 mm cutter has more edges in contact and tighter clearances than any other B32 head, so it generates the most friction and suffers most when it runs dry. On a shared high-security machine, manual oiling is easy to postpone until performance has already dropped. The oiler meters HSM shredder oil onto the rollers as the machine runs. Since this head is outside HSM's lifetime roller warranty (which covers P-2 to P-5), protecting it is worth the extra component.

The oiler draws from a replaceable bottle, and HSM publishes no refill interval because it depends on volume. HSM does not state whether a filled bottle ships with the unit, so order HSM oil with the machine.

Using the B32 HSM18244 day to day

Feed plain paper only; staples, clips, cards and discs are outside what HSM rates the head for. A light barrier starts and stops the rollers, standby draw is 0.1 W, and idle noise is about 56 dB(A). Because P-7 waste packs densely, the bin lasts longer than you might expect. Bags and HSM's AF500/B32 cardboard box are separate purchases.

How the HSM18244 stacks up

Article 1824113 is the same shredder without the oiler, 50 mm narrower; it is reasonable for a single user who will oil it by hand. If P-6 is acceptable, the 0.78 x 11 mm B32 takes six sheets and tolerates staples. For more room at P-7, the SECURIO B34 at 1 x 5 mm adds a 100-liter bin and a 700 W motor.

Who should buy it

Defense suppliers, research groups and government contractors whose rules mandate P-7, with the machine shared across a team. It is the wrong tool for general office paper or anyone who assumes P-7 equals NSA approval; it does not.
