HSM SECURIO B32 1/16 x 5/8 Cross Cut Document Shredder - HSM1822

The SECURIO B32 is what you buy when the B26 is the right machine but the bin is the wrong size. Same 310 mm throat, same 610 W continuous-duty motor, same 1.9 x 15 mm P-5 cutting head — and an 82-litre container that HSM rates at roughly 1,043 sheets, half again as much as the B26 holds at the same cut size.

For a department that shreds steadily rather than occasionally, that is the difference between emptying the bin weekly and emptying it twice a week. The cabinet is taller rather than wider, so the floor footprint barely changes.

Specifications

As with the P-5 B26, optical discs are not on HSM’s accepted-materials list for this cutting head. If CDs and DVDs are part of your disposal stream you need a P-4 machine or a dedicated media destroyer alongside it.

Bags are not included. The B32 uses HSM1815 shredder bags (34 gal, roll of 100, MPN 3310000004) — the same part as the B26, B34, AF500, Classic 125 and Pure 530/630.

One planning note. The B32 is a floor-standing machine: 31.2 inches tall on castors, with the bin drawing out at the front, so allow clearance ahead of it as well as beside it. Power is an ordinary 110-120 V outlet at 610 W, with a 0.1 W standby draw, so no dedicated circuit is needed.

Who Should Buy This — and Who Should Not

The right choice for a floor or department with a steady P-5 obligation: HR, finance, clinical administration, legal support. Buy it over the B26 when someone has complained about emptying the bin, or when the machine sits somewhere inconvenient to service.

If your shredding is occasional, you are paying for bin capacity you will not use and the B26 at the same cut size costs less. If throughput rather than security is the problem, note that 9-11 sheets a pass is unchanged from the B26 — a bigger bin does not make the machine faster, and the P-4 versions at 14-16 sheets do. Ceiling height also matters: at 31.2 inches tall the B32 will not slide under a low worktop.
