HSM SECURIO B26 1/32 x 3/16 with External Automatic Oiler

This is the highest-security cutting head offered in the SECURIO B26 cabinet: a 1 x 5 mm particle cut rated P-7 under DIN 66399, with HSM’s external automatic oiler fitted as standard. At four sheets per pass it is not an office workhorse and was never meant to be. It exists for the small volume of material that genuinely cannot be allowed to be reconstructed.

Everything around the cutting head is familiar B26: 12.2-inch throat, 610 W continuous-duty motor, 55-litre pull-out bin. The oiler is not optional cosseting at this level — a P-7 head running dry is a jam waiting to happen, and the automatic bottle removes the human variable.

Specifications

Two things worth reading twice. First, HSM’s lifetime cutting-cylinder warranty applies to security levels P-2 through P-5 only, so this P-7 machine does not carry it — that is a real warranty downgrade against the P-4 and P-5 B26 models, not a technicality. Second, HSM lists paper as the only accepted material here: no staples, no paper clips, no cards, no discs.

Who Should Buy This — and Who Should Not

Buy this if a policy, a contract or a regulator has put P-7 in writing and the volume behind that requirement is small — a legal team’s privileged files, a research group’s pre-publication data, a security office handling a few sensitive documents a week. Four sheets a pass is tolerable at that scale, and the 1,011-sheet bin yield means you are not emptying it constantly.

Do not buy it as a general office shredder. At four sheets a pass it is roughly a quarter the speed of the P-4 B26, and asking a floor of people to share it will produce a queue and, eventually, a second unofficial shredder. It also will not take staples or paper clips, so everything must be pre-stripped. For general confidential paper, the B26 at 4.5 x 30 mm (P-4) or 1.9 x 15 mm (P-5) is the correct choice; the P-5 version also keeps the lifetime cutting-cylinder warranty that this model gives up.
