HSM SECURIO B26 - 1/16" x 5/8" with External Automatic Oiler - HSM18024

The HSM SECURIO B26 1/16 x 5/8 in with External Automatic Oiler (HSM18024) is a P-5 workgroup shredder that cuts 1.9 x 15 mm particles at 9-11 sheets per pass, feeding through a 12.2 in (310 mm) throat into a 14.5-gallon (55 L) bin. A bottle mounted on its side keeps the cutters oiled as it runs, so nobody has to remember. Choose this version for a hallway or shared-room shredder that has no obvious owner.

Fine cuts and lubrication

A 1.9 x 15 mm head makes many more cuts per page than a strip cutter, and when it runs short of oil it first accepts fewer sheets, then begins to jam. Oil is dispensed during operation, so the amount tracks how much paper actually goes through. That is how this B26 can hold its 9-11 sheet rating well into its service life. You still empty the bin, keep the intake free of dust and top up the bottle with HSM cutting-block oil; generic oils gum up and aerosols must never be sprayed near the motor.

Fitting the oiler-equipped B26

Width needs checking. In HSM's series data the oiler build measures 547 mm across, compared with 497 mm without it, yet the datasheet for this article quotes the plain cabinet. Leave roughly two inches more on one side, and measure any recess before ordering. The rest is standard B26: a 610 W motor rated for continuous duty, 0.1 W EcoSmart standby, about 55 dB(A) at idle, and a front pull-out bin so the cutting head never needs lifting. Neither liners nor oil come in the box; the matching bag is HSM1815, a 34-gallon size sold 100 per roll as part 3310000004.

Choosing a different SECURIO

• B26 1/16 x 5/8 in without oiler: the same cut, throat and bin for a machine one person will oil.
• B32 1/16 x 5/8 in with oiler: the same P-5 cut and oiler with an 82 L bin of about 1,043 sheets.
• B24 1/16 x 5/8 in with oiler: a smaller 9.45 in throat and 9.2 gal bin where space is tight.

Who it suits

Shared, unsupervised P-5 machines expected to hold their throughput for years, and facilities teams maintaining shredders across several sites who would rather not schedule oiling visits. The oiler adds little for a one-person machine whose owner oils it anyway, or for very light use. Not NSA listed; it does not take CDs or DVDs.
