HSM SECURIO B26 1/16 x 5/8 Cross Cut Document Shredder - HSM1802

The SECURIO B26 at 1.9 x 15 mm is the model most offices land on when P-4 is no longer defensible. Its 28.5 mm² particle puts it squarely in DIN 66399 level P-5, one step finer than the 4.5 x 30 mm cross cut, and it is still a genuine shared-office machine rather than a slow high-security unit.

What you trade for the finer cut is throughput: 9-11 sheets a pass instead of 14-16. What you gain, besides the security level, is bin life — smaller particles pack more densely, so the same 55-litre container swallows about 700 sheets at this cut size.

Shredder bags are not included. The B26 takes HSM1815 bags (34 gal, roll of 100, MPN 3310000004), which also fit the Classic 125, SECURIO B32, B34 and AF500, and the Pure 530 and 630.

Who Should Buy This — and Who Should Not

This is the right machine for an HR, finance or clinical department that has written P-5 into a retention policy and still needs a shredder a whole floor can share. The 12.2-inch throat and 55-litre bin mean it behaves like a general office machine; the cut size means the output would take serious effort to reconstruct.

Skip it if volume is the constraint rather than security. At 9-11 sheets a pass it is noticeably slower than the P-4 B26 at 14-16, and a team that regularly clears filing boxes will feel that. If you want P-5 with more bin between emptyings, the SECURIO B32 uses the same 1.9 x 15 mm cut in an 82-litre cabinet rated at about 1,043 sheets. And if a P-6 or P-7 obligation is coming, buy for it now — the B26 exists at 0.78 x 11 mm and 1 x 5 mm, though both are much slower and neither carries the lifetime cylinder warranty.
