HSM SECURIO B24 1/32 x 3/16 with External Automatic Oiler - HSM17844

The HSM SECURIO B24 1/32 x 3/16 in with External Automatic Oiler (HSM17844) pairs HSM's NSA/CSS EPL-listed 1 x 5 mm cutting head, rated DIN 66399 P-7, with an oiler that keeps the cutting block lubricated on its own. A P-7 head turns each sheet into roughly twelve thousand particles and the dust that comes with them, so lubrication decides whether it keeps taking its rated four sheets. This version is aimed at secure rooms shared by several cleared staff, where nobody personally owns the shredder.

Why automatic oiling matters most at P-7

The finer the cut, the faster dust packs between the discs. On an unlubricated P-7 block, capacity falls and stalls follow within weeks of regular use. In a shared secure area, responsibility for maintenance is spread thin, and that is exactly where the oiler earns its place: it removes the step people forget. It does not alter the cut. The particle size, the P-7 rating and the EPL entry are the same as on the model sold without it.

Keep the reservoir filled with HSM cutting-block special oil and nothing else. Penetrating oils, aerosols and vegetable oils leave residue that hardens between the discs, which is the very problem the oiler is meant to prevent. HSM does not publish a consumption rate, so check the reservoir whenever you empty the bin.

Throughput, bin and footprint

Four sheets of 80 g/m² paper is the datasheet rating (HSM article 1784111, EU equivalent of US part 1784113O). A queue forms quickly, so this suits a small secure team rather than an open floor; sites with department-wide P-7 needs often place a shredder in each work area. On the plus side, the dense waste means the bin rarely needs attention. The 610 W drive is specified for continuous duty, the deskside cabinet idles at about 54 dB(A), and HSM's lifetime roller warranty, which ends at P-5, does not apply. Shredder bags are sold separately.

Good fit, poor fit

A good fit for a cleared facility, a government contractor's document room or any shared area where P-7 is mandated and maintenance ownership is unclear. A poor fit for general office paper, for mixed media (no cards, discs or badges), or for any buyer whose policy stops at P-5, where the 1/16 x 5/8 in B24 is faster, takes cards and keeps the lifetime roller warranty.
