HSM SECURIO AF150 3/16 x 1 1/8 AutoFeed Document Shredder - HSM2083

The HSM SECURIO AF150 3/16 x 1 1/8 (HSM2083) is a P-4 cross-cut autofeed shredder that takes a 150-sheet stack in its tray and cuts it into 3/16 x 1 1/8 in (4.5 x 30 mm) particles unattended. A manual slot alongside accepts 8-10 sheets, and the 9.2-gallon (35-liter) container holds about 415 shredded sheets. It is the general-purpose AF150, suited to small professional offices that shred in batches and also need to destroy cards and discs.

Batch shredding without the babysitting

HSM's Nanogrip rollers lift sheets from the top of the stack in small groups, and staples or paper clips do not have to be pulled out first, which removes the most common cause of autofeed stoppages. While the tray works through its load, the manual slot is still available, so an urgent letter, a credit card or a disc can go straight in. A full 150-sheet load uses roughly a third of the container.

Security and media coverage

The 135 mm² particle falls inside the 160 mm² limit for P-4 under DIN 66399, a typical baseline for client files and general business records. The extra O-3, T-4, E-3 and F-1 ratings mean optical discs, magnetic and electronic media and film are covered too, which the P-5 and P-6 AF150 versions do not offer for discs. Put discs and cards through the manual slot, one at a time.

Day-to-day running

A 610 W motor with overload protection does the cutting, and automatic start/stop handles the manual slot. Bags are ordered separately: HSM's 13-gallon tear-resistant roll, part 3310000014 with 100 bags, also fits the Classic 108, SECURIO B24 and AF300.

• SECURIO AF500 3/16 x 1 1/8: 14-16 sheets and a 21.7-gallon (82-liter) container for sustained batch work.
• SECURIO AF150 1/16 x 5/8: P-5 on this chassis, 6-7 sheets by hand, no disc rating.

Who the AF150 P-4 suits

Buy it when shredding happens in batches, such as month-end purges or closed-case clear-outs, and one or two people handle it for the whole office. If staff feed a few pages many times a day, the manual B24 is quicker per pass. For much larger volumes, the AF500's bigger container is the better tool, and if your policy names P-5, choose the 1/16 x 5/8 version.
