HSM Pure 530 3/16 x 1 1/8 with External Automatic Oiler - HSM23534

The HSM Pure 530 with external automatic oiler is a P-4 cross-cut office shredder (DIN 66399) that cuts 4.5 x 30 mm particles, takes 14-16 sheets per pass and adds a cabinet-mounted pump that lubricates the cutting rollers automatically. It is the version of the Pure 530 to buy when a small team shreds confidential paper every day and nobody is reliably going to oil the machine by hand.

What the automatic oiler changes

Particle-cut rollers depend on lubrication. Run dry, they gather paper dust and adhesive residue, sheet capacity slowly drops and jams become more frequent. On a standard cross-cut shredder, preventing that is a manual routine that tends to be forgotten. Here a pump doses the rollers on its own schedule, so the machine keeps working at its rated bite without anyone remembering. Because the oiler sits outside the cabinet, you can check and refill its reservoir without opening the cutting head. You still empty the bin and top up the oil; you just stop doing the lubrication yourself.

The P-4 machine underneath

Apart from the oiler, this is a Pure 530 cross cut. Its 135 mm² particle is below the 160 mm² DIN 66399 allows at P-4, appropriate for HR, client and financial records. Staples, paper clips, credit cards and CDs or DVDs are within its specification; feed discs singly. A paper sensor starts and stops the 610 W motor, standby lowers idle consumption, and idle noise is around 55 dB(A), quiet enough to share a room with desks. Bags are not supplied, so order a roll sized for the 80-liter bin, plus a supply of oil for the reservoir.

• Pure 530 cross cut (no oiler): identical cut, capacity and bin at a lower price; fine if someone will oil it by hand.
• Pure 630 with external automatic oiler: same 4.5 x 30 mm P-4 cut with 20-22 sheets, a 310 mm feed and a 130-liter bin, at 47.6 kg.
• Pure 740 with external automatic oiler: a 400 mm feed opening and a 145-liter bin at 21-22 sheets for larger groups.
• Pure 530 strip cut: faster at 25-27 sheets, but its 5.8 mm strip only reaches P-2 and it has no oiler.

Who it suits

It suits one person or a small team destroying a few hundred confidential pages a day where maintenance would otherwise be skipped. For a whole floor, 14-16 sheets and an 80-liter bin will mean queues and frequent emptying, so step up to the oiled Pure 630 or 740. If your policy requires P-5, look at the Pure 740 max 1.9 x 15 mm or the Pure 830 instead.
