HSM Pure 530 1/4 Inch Strip Cut Shredder - HSM2351

The HSM Pure 530 strip cut is a large office shredder that cuts paper into 5.8 mm strips at DIN 66399 P-2, accepting 25-27 sheets per pass through an 11.8 in (300 mm) opening that HSM rates for documents up to DIN A3. With a 21.1-gallon (80-liter) container, it is meant for a shared bulk-shredding point where large-format, non-confidential paper is routine.

The 300 mm intake is the reason to choose it

Narrower Pure cabinets stop at 240 mm, which means wide drawings, landscape spreadsheets and proof sheets have to be folded or cut first. On the 530 they drop straight in. Folding also eats into capacity, since every fold doubles thickness, so a wide slot saves time twice over in a design studio, print room or school office. The same 610 W motor used in the Pure 420 drives a wider cutting head here, which is why sheet count climbs only modestly over that model.

Handling an 80-liter bin of strip waste

Strip waste is long and springy, so the large drawer holds about 526 sheets, close to half what the cross-cut 530 manages in the identical container (about 978). The full-bin display flags when it is time to empty and stops the cutters, and a liner bag makes lifting out that volume of loose strips far easier; bags are not included. The cutters start and stop automatically, the induction-hardened steel rollers accept staples and paper clips, and the machine idles at around 55 dB(A).

Who the Pure 530 strip cut suits

Pick it for a floor or department that produces lots of oversized, low-sensitivity paper, such as plots, proofs, handouts and catalogs, and wants the fewest stops to empty a bin. Avoid it for anything containing personal data: at P-2 complete lines remain readable, and the cross-cut 530 offers P-4 in the same footprint. If large formats never come up, the Pure 420 strip cut does similar work in less floor space.
