Frequently Asked Questions
Will this work with any HSM shredder?
No. Part 1990990025 is built for the Powerline FA 500.3 and matches that machine's discharge height and opening. It will not fit the FA 400.2, the Securio office range, or the ProfiPack packaging machines. If you run an FA 400.2 and want continuous discharge, ask about the accessories listed for that chassis instead, because this module cannot be adapted.
Does the conveyor eliminate shredder bags entirely?
It replaces the bag at the shredder outlet, but the material still has to go somewhere. Most installations discharge into a baling press, a wheeled container or a bulk bin. If you are feeding a baler such as the KP 100, you are moving the consumable cost from shredder bags to baling wire. If you are discharging into a container, you may still line that container.
What does the belt actually move, and how fast?
The belt is 15.75 inches wide including its side rails, 56.3 inches long, and runs at 34.78 ft/min, roughly 10.6 m/min. That is deliberately slow. The job is steady removal of light shredded paper rather than high-speed transfer, and a slow belt keeps fines on the belt instead of throwing them off the sides.
Can one person move it?
Not comfortably. The module weighs 337 lb, about 153 kg. It is on casters so it can be rolled on a flat floor once assembled and positioned, but initial placement, alignment to the shredder outlet and any movement over thresholds or ramps is a two-person job with proper equipment.
Is there anything to clean or maintain?
There is a removable overflow catch tray beneath the belt that collects fines and the occasional piece that misses the belt. Emptying it on a regular schedule is the main routine task; leaving it is how paper dust accumulates around the drive. The belt itself should be checked for tracking and tension at normal service intervals.
What electrical supply does it need?
The drive motor is rated at 1/4 HP. HSM does not publish the supply voltage and phase for this module in its US accessory listing, so confirm the electrical requirement with your dealer against your site supply before installation rather than assuming it matches the FA 500.3's own three-phase feed.
