Frequently Asked Questions
Will it fit under a desk?
At 24 inches tall it clears a standard 29 to 30 inch desk or counter height with room to spare, and it needs a 20 inch wide by 15.7 inch deep floor area. Check the position of the modesty panel and any under-desk pedestal first - depth, not height, is what usually stops a console going where you planned.
Is this a shredder?
No. It is a locked collection cabinet. Paper goes in through the top and stays there until a key holder opens the door and takes it to a shredder. Consoles are usually bought in twos and threes to feed one central machine rather than putting a small shredder on every floor.
How does it differ from the 36-inch console?
Only in height and capacity. This one is 24 inches tall and holds up to 20 gallons; part 1070070150 is 36 inches tall and holds up to 30 gallons. The width and depth are effectively identical, so if you have the headroom the taller unit gives you 50 percent more capacity for the same floor space.
How big is the deposit opening?
HSM does not publish slot dimensions for this console, so we will not quote a figure. What is published is the anti-phishing paper deflector behind the opening, which is what stops documents being pulled back out. If you need to post bound reports or box files rather than loose sheets, contact us and we will measure a unit before you commit.
