Frequently Asked Questions
Does this console shred paper?
No. The Executive Security Console is a secure holding container only. Documents stay locked inside until someone with the key empties it into a shredder. If you need shredding and collection in one unit you are looking at a shredder with an integrated cabinet, such as an HSM SECURIO P-series machine, not a console.
What does the anti-phishing paper deflector do?
It is a baffle fitted behind the deposit opening. Paper drops past it into the body of the console, but the deflector blocks the straight line back out, so nobody can reach in or fish documents out through the slot. It is the feature that separates a security console from an ordinary lidded bin.
Can it use the same key as our other HSM consoles?
Yes. HSM's One Key Solution means this console can be keyed alike with other HSM consoles, Shredinators and padlocks, so one key covers a floor or a building. Keying-alike has to be specified when the units are supplied - ask us before the order goes in, because retrofitting a matched lock later is more expensive than ordering it that way.
How is this different from the 24-inch Executive Shred Console?
Height and capacity. This unit is 36 inches tall and holds up to 30 gallons; the Executive Shred Console 1070070230 is 24 inches tall and holds up to 20 gallons. The 20 x 15.7 inch footprint is effectively the same on both, so the choice comes down to whether you have the vertical clearance and how often you are willing to empty it.
Does a bag come with it?
HSM literature describes the console as using a reusable 420D nylon collection bag with a wall-hugging design, and does not publish a disposable liner part number for it. We do not want to promise a specific bag in the carton, so if a liner matters to your process, ask us to confirm what ships with the unit before you order.
