Does the security level of my P44i change which box I need?
No. HSM lists a single collecting box for the P44i device type, so the same article number covers the cross-cut and micro-cut versions. The cutting head determines particle size, not cabinet dimensions. Higher security levels do fill the box faster, because finer particles pack more densely, so budget for more boxes on a P-6 or P-7 machine.
Is this the same box as the one for the P36i or P40i?
No. HSM publishes a separate cardboard box for the P36i / P40i cabinet. This 600 x 445 x 569 mm box is specific to the P44i and is larger in every dimension. Match the article number to the machine rather than assuming SECURIO parts are interchangeable across the range.
How much shredded paper does it hold?
HSM does not publish a rated volume for this box. Its external dimensions give roughly 152 litres of gross volume, which is the honest upper limit; the working capacity is lower because paper heaps toward the centre under the cutting head. If you need a figure for waste planning, use 152 litres gross and derate it.
Can I use a bag instead of the box?
Yes, HSM supplies collecting bags for the SECURIO range and many sites run bags. The trade-off is handling: a bag is cheaper per emptying but has to be tied, lifted and often transferred again at the recycling point, and it can split under a dense micro-cut load. The box costs more per emptying and takes more storage space flat.
Does it ship flat?
The box is supplied as a single unit of corrugated board. Cardboard collecting boxes of this size are conventionally shipped flat and folded on site, but HSM does not state the shipped form in its technical data, so confirm with us before ordering if storage space is a constraint.
